chachagirl,
i went to npcwomen.org, then to alumnae panhellenics and looked thru the listed alumnae panhellenic chapters. i did not see one listed specifically for birmingham,al, nor jefferson county, but i did find one for walker county(jasper) and one for montgomery. neither had a linked website to npcwomen.org.-not to say that they don't have a website tho.
i will try to ask some friends who live in birmingham if there is an active alumnae panhellenic chapter.

I find it hard to believe, with the number of greeks at both Tuscaloosa and Auburn, that there is no panhel in Birmingham. I could be getting my Alabama counties mixed up, but what about Pelham?

jefferson is one of the main counties of the birmingham, al area. there is no listing at npcwomen.org either under jefferson county or birmingham.

No, there is no B'ham area alum panhellenic. They've tried...don't know why it just doesn't work. Pelham is a suburb of Birmingham.

Chicago Alumnae Panhellenic
http://www.geocities.com/chicagopanhellenic/index.html
This is a good resource for those girls in the northern Illinois area who may not know that Chicago/Chicago Area Suburbs has a Alumnae Panhellenic group.
I don't think that they have informationals but they are a good resource!!

I think the info sessions are a valuable tool for those girls who are rushing at the more competitive schools. However, it concerns me that on all of these websites with of their info about the process, what to wear, how to get recs, and the FAQs of recruitment- not one of them addresses the topic of "What if I don't get a bid?" There is little mention of the possibility of not receiving a bid or being released early in the process.

I like this very gentle way of saying "don't dress like a damn hoochie."

Actually, we do address this in our question/answer session, along with questions about costs, grade requirements, sorority "tiers" and more. And if the PNMs don't ask, we bring it up anyway.

Does anyone have any information about the Tampa Alumnae Panhellenic Association? I cannot find any website or way of contacting them to see if they have information sessions.

I am a member of the St. Petersburg Alumnae Panhellenic, and we tend to work together with the Tampa group. I know there is an informational meeting in the works. If you have any questions feel free to PM me.
