I'm only 5'2", so there aren't too many men out there who are shorter than I am. But height is not as important to me as other factors, like personality, intelligence, and sense of humor.

so many of us 5'2 here!! The only men i've dated have been 6' and up. My mom is about 3'' taller than my dad (i'm shorter than both alas), and it is definitely weird. I'm not the best at judging height (unless you are really tall or short), but somehow, I only go for guys at least 6', go figure.

I can't handle men shorter than I am (5'6). My husband is in the range of 6'3 or 6'4. There a biological factor to all of this - it's not just preference. Instinctively, heterosexual women seek men who are larger than they are. The bigger the man, the more protection he can provide...or so our instincts would have us believe. But, then again, if a man is a giant (clinically), it starts going the other direction because we instinctively see that as abnormal.

I recently took an upper division physical anthropology class and the information we were presented with was that people sought mates of similar height and other characteristics (biological and social) about 85% of the time.

All my life my dad had a complex about his height. He stopped growing when he had polio at age 14 (young for a male to stop growing) and is only 5'6". My mom was 5'4". My dad's second wife is like 5'9". I was really shocked that he dated, let alone married someone taller than him because he was always so sensitive about his height.
As for me, I prefer a bigger guy (not skinny, like others have said), but I'm only 5'3", so it's not tough to find men taller than me.

I'm the exact same height as my husband...and he still compliments me when I wear heels...so I don't think he minds, and I know I don't.
I've never dated anyone shorter than me, and only one guy who was more than 4" taller than me.
