family names

Hi all my new DZ sisters! I'm one of the founding sisters at San Diego State to be initiated spring 08!! As we are founding sisters of the recolonization, we were given twins rather than bigs, so we are making out own family names! So baasically my twin and I have no idea for a family name! What are the names supposed to mean?

I'd love to help, but we never had family names in my chapter. Maybe someone else from another school could chime in. Best of luck with your chapter and congrats on your upcoming initiation!

Sorry to crash...The DZs at my school were only a year old when I joined greek life so many of them were also in *twin* form. They seemed to name their families after things they liked...There is the Animal Fam, The Shining Star Fam...etc.

My family trees pick whatever names they like.. I'm in the Best Family Tree (adorable, I know), there's a Golden Family Tree, a Goddess Family Tree, a Princess Family Tree...

They all come in handy when giving your new Little sisters hints.. Example, all the girls in the princess tree get disney princess hints.

Hi My Twin (Adarus),
I see that we both are on the same track of thought about our family name. I was hoping to get some kind of insight from others. We'll find a name soon enough to meet the beauty of our bond.

well here at zeta psi, we go with different themes that deal with designs on paddles sometimes, or just different things.
for example, we have the texas family, rhinestone family, pearl family, silver star family, heart family, and quite a few others!
i really like the way we do it, so maybe you would too : ]

Our Family Names are just like all over the place at Mansfield University I am in the Motley Dude Line and then there is the Flamingo and the Pineapple Tidbits......

All of our Family names revolve around DZ icons/symbols:
We have the turtle , diamond, pearl, rose, green, pink.
We had really horrible names a few years back like the Big Sexy family.

We changed them to be a bit more appropriate

at my school we have family names like Motley dudes(My family name) Flamingos The Pinnaple Tidbits (my twins family name), The Chickens, THe Roadkill so its basically anything you want to make up......
