My 10-year-old son would call that "farting."

OOPs. okay, 3 mile island!

But where are we going with energy????

Geo Thermal is an idea that I forgot and does not seem to be overly popular.

Methene gas is being tried at land fills and why not? It is almost a reuseable fuel because of the trash that the average person throws away weekly.

While funny to some, I find it pretty serious as my electric, water, sewer, and gas bill continue to grow each year.

Now, the protected and thought untouchable areas of the Artic and Antartic snow/ice masses are melting.

So you coasties beware as you will be underwater when I am long gone!

Does anyone have a passive solar house?

I really looked into it when I was married and talked to a builder. Had some plans for an English Tudor house and changed some of it for passive solar. I got divorced and she took the plans.

Now, I keep the blinds open when it is sunny and close them at night when I go to bed. It helps as my last gas bill was $130.00 up from $72.00.

Remember, I am gone for 1/2 day at work.

I know my brother just bought a house in California that has passive solar panels on it. He can somehow sell back the power that it generates to the power company. He also has some kind of geo-thermal water heater or something that has pipes that are underground in his backyard. The water is heated by the earth and then cycles back into the house. He's been there since July and said his electric and gas bills are less than his cable bill.

That is not geo-thermal. Geo goes down below the earths crust, very deep. I cannot think of what the name is but, I know what you are refering to! The problem with it is it will not work under exteme conditions of weather. That is why there is a back up need with natural gas and air conditioning.

You are correct though, whether it be from wind turbines or solar panels, and enough electricity is produced, it can be sold to the local power company.

That is to cool as the natural gas prices keep going up!

She's right. Geothermal means energy from the Earth. It can be from the shallow ground to deep within the Earth's crust.

Roses, does he live in Hawaii? That seems to be where most of the geothermal and solar energy units are located.

Gee.

Let's all attack each other for the sake of attacking.

Speaking of energy, this is a waste of it.

If you don't want to comment on the topic, don't come back to the thread.

Thank you.

My mistake. I had no idea that we aren't allowed to go off topic in threads. You'd better go do a lot more editing if that's the case.

If you would like to ask me to give it a break, I would entertain that request. But, coming into a thread and making such statements as the one above, isn't going to do anything. We all know you and Earp are likethis. I doubt you'd be saying much if it had been other members involved.

You may not like me coming into a thread and going off topic. But, you telling me to stay on topic or stay out is not your place. You are a mod, not a god. You can moderate my actions. But, you cannot control them. Thank you.

I don't know you.

What I ssee above is a thread about energy, which was turned into a personal attack apparantely because you don't like the OP. Personal attacks are against the TOS of this board.

It was the attacks -- from both sides that caused the editing.

By the way, I would edit a thread that way for anyone if I ran across it. You included.
