New GC sisterfriend

Hi,
I was a silent lurker for awhile. I'm a sisterfriend. I just wanted to share I poem I wrote per AKA_Monet's request. Here it is:

When I was just a young girl,
I dreamed of wearing 20 Pearls
I envied the ladies of pink and green
Especially the ones who worked,
Not just so they could be seen
A young lady from St. Louis started it all
Yes, Ethel Hedgeman Lyle did in Miner Hall
Incorporated in 1913, these ladies blazed a trail
No one could foresee
From the founding of the Mississippi Health Project,
A partnership in math and science they would share,
As well as donate money to Africare
Because high scholastic achievement is a part of her formation,
This started the Educational Advancement Foundation
A sisterhood that never fails, to blaze new trails
From education, the black family, health, economics and the arts,
Women from all walks of life, work to do their part
To maintain high moral standards with
Girls and women who share sisterly relationships,
To achieve Ms. McKinzie's goals of
Economics, Sisterhood and Partnerships
So now it is the time, for these ladies to
Celebrate service to all mankind,
A lifetime of blood, sweat and tears
I wish Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority Inc. the best,
as they celebrate 100 years.

Impressive, let's see if more of your interested sisters can do likewise!

a chant

This is dedicated to all the AKA's on GC esp. the moderators hope you like!

(To be sung like a military chant)
One fine day in Miner Hall

A sorority was created that tops them all
They’re colors are salmon pink
And apple green
Shinning so bright
They can’t help but be seen
With their heads held high don’t think they mean
They just have great self-esteem
Have you ever heard anything so pristine?
They rule the world with service supreme.
Sound off 1-9
sound off 08
Sound off 1-9, 1-9, 08

100 years later they’re still on top
AKA women just can’t be stopped
Especially our lovely GC moderators
don’t make them mad
or you’ll be saying “9-1-1 hello operator.”
Kepping it smooth on AKA avenue
If you have something to say
It better be new
Cause if you dare repeat, repeat
Please be sure they will delete.
With their mirrors and 20 pearls
You know they rule the GC world
Sound off, 1-9
sound off 0-8
Sound off 1-9, 1-9, 08
