From what I've seen, recs aren't really a big deal at all. Most girls come into rush without recs, including most of the girls in my pledge class. I came in with no recs (I didn't even know you had to have recs for rush until I came onto this board) and was more than fine!
The Pi Phi chapter is very strong and the girls are lovely

I have to agree with everyone on this thread. UNC's greek scene is very laidback with little to no competition with other sororities. We all support each other by going to other sororities events (KD chili cook off, AXO trunk show, etc.) and with 4 way mixers. All the sororities at UNC have a very strong chapter and each year the amount of PNM and interest in becoming Greek increases. Feel free to PM me if you have any question on UNC Greek life and rush!
