PhiGam i like where your head is. Ike Turner was not a good person and neither is Bobby Brown or any other wife beater. But then again I'm sure the hippie, left-wing people that seem to infest this forum will have some sort of excuse for the reason why Bobby beat Whitney when he dies. Some people can take accountability for their actions but it takes someone with character to do that.

The logic of hippie, left-wingers justifying abuse doesn't add up with what "hippie and left-wing" entail.
But I guess being a southernfrat means you wouldn't know about class and gender power and prestige and what happens when it is misused by people like the right-wing conservatives.
See why labels are so categorically presumptuous and dumb?
*************
Ike Turner wasn't a good person as it relates to the things that he's reported to have done. That's all I know about him personally. Professionally, I see his works and say R.I.P to a creative person. Just that simple. I'll try not to stalk his grave site or adopt an alternate personality named "Ike" so I can live my life and record an album.

I'm pretty sure Kurt Cobain never hit a woman, doubtful about elvis.
Bing Crosby did though, you could have used him.

Doing drugs doesn't really mean anything to me, for the most part you're hurting yourself there. Not to mention that those guys have already passed, how exactly does that fit into this thread?
They do all have one thing in common with each other but not Ike Turner: They were talented. Rick James is the least talented guy on that list but he still was a lot more gifted than Ike.

PhiGam.. you are missing the whole whole point of the names I listed....and duh...those guys already passed?
...nooooo kidding...maybe that's how it fits into this thread...
Altho most of Ike's wrongdoing haunted him while he was alive, most of the names I listed had some of the same issues....altho they were talented, they still had demons that OVERSHADOWED thier talent? maybe that's how it fits into this thread perhaps??
And perhaps measuring talents was not a point of the names I listed because it's all subjective and not really the point at all.

Like you said, his demons overshadow his talent.
