You were the same as me! I didn't really want to move in, just because I had always lived in a single dorm with a private bathroom. I didn't want to give that up! The sorority house was my first experience with roomates in college and I was worried that I would hate it.

Surprise! I ended up LOVING it (and even crying when it was time for me to graduate and move out).

I'm losing a single, too! It's quite sad to lose my private space, but I'm getting jazzed to move into the house, based upon all of your responses!

I worked during our nm meetings, my big was MIA (and transfered after my first semester), and I was very shy. I moved in knowing almost no one. It wasn't easy at first, but I hung out with the people that seemed the most friendly towards me, and as time went on I established my close knit friends. I just pushed myself to get involved. I attended everything, took positions, volunteered to help with things, and over time I felt more comfortable.

I'm really glad to hear that! Your, and everyone else's, response has totally made me feel better! I'm definitely going to heed everyone's advice.
