I had three cousins riding in Iris and we watched it at an in-laws house on Napoleon. Loads of fun--there were ChiOs from Tenn, LSU, MSU, and Ala. there, and DDDs from LSU and MSU, and Phi Mus from Aub and MSU, plus tons of kids, older peeps, etc. One of those extened family and friends open house parties, with bloody marys, red beans and rice, and a pot of gumbo. And a yummy douberge' (sp) cake from Gambinos.

This is how I like Mardi Gras. And I do like being on a balcony in the Quarter. One year we went to a party in some hotel with a large balcony, on Bourbon. I rem the gays in their ball gowns and their b/fs in tux's. They made quite a production parading around with their trophies.

We were on Napoleon too. My friend's place is across the street from Anne Rice's house. Prime place to be able to watch everything without having to haul our drunken selves too far.
