Which Chi Omega Alumnae Chapter hosted the 30th annual Chi Omega Christmas Market in 2007? This philanthropic project has raised $4.95 million for selected charitable organizations in their local community. The Market includes over 150 merchants, presenting unlimited opportunities for holiday shopping. This is a distinctive juried show and participants are selected on the basis of quality, variety and uniqueness of merchandise. Chi Omega Christmas Market has routinely returned 70% of its gross income to the beneficiaries.

a.) Memphis, TN
b.) Little Rock, AR
c.) Kansas City, KS
d.) Dallas, TX

Since I haven't answered one of these in a while, thought I would go ahead and try. My answer is d.) Dallas, TX

Perfect answer, Cutie Hootie!

I've never gotten to go to the Dallas Chi Omega Christmas Market, but it sounds most impressive!

Next question?

Not the happiest topic, but...

Out of the 23 single-letter chapters (Psi through Alpha), how many are currently inactive?
A. 7
B. 11
C. 9
D. 3

Bonus points if you can name the first chapter to become inactive, and the year.

I give credit to this wonderful website I found:

1895 Arkansas - Psi
1898 Jessamine Female Institute - Chi (Old) (inactive since 1901)
1899 Hellmutk Woman's College - Phi (Old) (inactive since 1900)
1899 Tulane - Rho
1899 Randolph - Macon Woman's - Sigma (inactive since 1960)
1899 Mississippi - Tau
1899 Transylvania- Chi
1899 Ward-Belmont - Upsilon (Old) (inactive since 1900)
1900 Illinois - Omicron
1900 Tennessee - Pi
1902 Cal - Berkeley - Mu
1902 Wisconsin - Madison - Nu
1902 U of Kansas- Lambda
1903 Nebraska - Kappa
1903 George Washington - Phi Alpha (inactive since 1968)
1901-Northwestern- Xi
1904 Texas - Iota
1905 Michigan - Eta
1905 West Virginia - Theta
1906 Colby - Beta (inactive since 1984)
1906 Colorado - Zeta
1907 Dickinson - Delta (inactive since 1971)
1907 Barnard - Epsilon (Old) (inactive since 1913)
1908 Florida State - Gamma

I think this is right!

This was a very tricky question, because it depends on interpretation!

These are the single-letter chapters I have as inactive:
Beta--Colby College
Chi (Old)--Jessamine Institute
Delta--Dickinson College
Epsilon (#1)--Barnard
Epsilon (#2)--SUNY-Buffalo
Phi (#1)--Hellmuth Woman's College
Phi (#2)--USC
Sigma--Randolph-Macon
Tau (Old)--Ole Miss (Oxford)
Upsilon (#1)--Belmont College
Upsilon (#2)--Southwestern Baptist/Union

According to that list, 11 chapters have closed. But if you count each letter once, only 8 chapters have closed (did I even list that as a choice?!) Plus I don't really understand why Ole Miss has two different listings as Tau...unless it was a community chapter versus a collegiate chapter? Nutbrnhair, you are our resident expert, any clarification?

PS--According to the 1920 edition of Baird's, Phi Chapter was the first to close, in 1899. This contradicts the other information we were given, so now I have no clue!!
