Go Cats!!!
Music City again, but that is just fine with me! It is better than none at all! Plus Nashville is a fun city, which when you are in the band, that matters a LOT because we are there for several days and we need to be able to have fun night life!

I just got home and checked Cats Pause to see where we were going. Apparently Music City is already sold out!
Go Big Blue!!

I was hoping there'd be some miracle upon miracles where Georgia might have a decent shot at the national title. (I'm thinking Hawaii will only get a decent shot at the national title if they are undefeated next season.) I'm still in disbelief that LSU was pushed back up into the #2 spot just so they could play OSU. Then again, it's the BCS system. Why the hell am I shocked? Georgia Coach Mark Richt said it best: There needs to be documented (not unwritten) rule that only Conference Champs can play for the BCS title. LSU does not deserve to be there since they've obviously been ranked #1 twice but could not hold on to the title. I'm beyond upset.
Here's a link to the bowl games schedule in chronological order: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2836420
I can't cheer for OSU or LSU. OSU has never beat a SEC team for the championship in 8 attempts. LSU is SEC, and I love the SEC, but they're the wrong team.
On the bright side, *singing* Pour some SUGAR on meeeee!!! It'd be nice to see Hawaii do as well in the off-season as they did in the regular season, but I gotta stick with my DAWGS!
ETA: I can't believe I'm hearing the LSU coach talk about their "body of work".

Hawaii's strength of schedule was 119th out of 119 teams in Division IA. Sagarin had it as 137th which means that at least 18 DIAA teams had tougher schedules than Hawaii.
Until they can fix that, they won't get into the MNC game.

Let's hear it for the WAC. Not the strongest conference.
As an aside, Ohio State has done pretty well in what was supposed to be a rebuilding year.

They went from #5 to #3 without playing a game... then the next week, they went from #3 to #1 sitting at home eating popcorn.
Sometimes you're better to be lucky than good.

Why thank you, Captain Obvious.
Explain this to me? Who's "they"? Us? I hope you're not talking about Hawaii. Hawaii tried like hell before this season started: http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/19605039/

They can't fix it if teams keep on pussying out. Simple as that.

Such wishful thinking on Georgia's part! Y'all not only were not conference champs, you didn't even make it to the game. It would be ridiculous to put Georgia in the final game no matter how well they finished the season. You'll get your chance next year!

If you're talking about Ohio State, you missed my point.
Nobody, especially the Buckeyes, expected them to be where they are.
As I understand it, not even Tressel expected to be much better than average this year.
The number one and two teams just keep getting upset, and those hovering around that fall into the slots.
Ohio State isn't the first, earlier this year a team, I think it was USC, jumped up something like seven places on a bye week as I recall
Nature abhors a vacuum.

Hawaii can't schedule those games because no one is going to schedule a home and home with a WAC team which is an ocean away. Those games are being canceled in large part due to Hawaii's arrogance in scheduling. Hawaii is not a BCS team, they should not expect to be treated as such.
To BCS teams, Hawaii is and probably always will be just another WAC game -- an easy OOC win. The teams who have dropped decisions to Hawaii at home over the last few years?
Michigan State, Alabama, Purdue and Arizona State.
A fearsome foursome if ever I saw one. MSU has been miserable over the last few years. As I recall, Alabama played Hawaii while it was on probation and very down. Purdue and ASU (excepting this year for ASU) are not exactly contenders in their conferences.
"They" = Hawaii -- thanks for calling me on that, I actually had a professor last year who would have a coronary every time the word was uttered. I should know better.
At least last year, Boise State's BCS win came against what was a pretty darn good Oregon State team (which finished with a 10-4 record).
I don't mean to diminish what Hawaii has accomplished, I wish them luck in their bowl game. I hope they shut the arrogant SEC fans up, but I don't think that'll happen.

Not likely to happen unless the SEC lost all the bowl games we're appearing in.

You're right. Wishful thinking it was (and unwavering favortism and faith in my team), but I just don't see how a team that loss it's #1 ranking to an unranked team in triple overtime deserves to play for the national title. Yes, they're the SEC champs, but it wasn't won by a sound beating. Just 21 - 14 over Tennessee. Not very impressive.
Besides, Michigan was denied the #2 slot last year because they had their one shot at #1 against Ohio State. LSU is being granted a third stinking shot at #1. I already knew this, but GAWD THE BCS SUCKS!
Lastly, no written rule that says you must be the Conference Champs. Now, I hate LSU more than ever. (But I can't cheer for Ohio State. Never.)

We know we're not a BCS team. We're just happy to crash the party.

As for Georgia, they're ALWAYS good, but just can't quite seem to cut it in the end.
Poor buckeyes!

The Big XII is just so strong top to bottom. The teams really beat up on each other. It's tough for anyone to run that kind of a gauntlet. That said, OU lost to Texas Tech on the road without their quarterback by 6 points. They lost to CU on the road by 3 points after a really poorly timed turnover.
LSU is pretty lucky this year. 5 plays away from going 7-5. Two losses at home to marginal bowl teams, and a near loss to the Tennessee team due to a fluky interception.
