Wow...so out of everything discussed in this thread (besides the black/navy thing...to which I'm in total agreement!) the only thing I will never wear is Crocs. I hate them. I hate them. I hate them.
My mother thinks they're great gardening shoes, so she bought two pair. One pink. One green... lol. She claims she'll spray paint them for me.
Other taboo items:
Fake designer bags
Flannel
Patterned bottoms
Colored jeans (green, orange, red)
ETA: Shredded anything. Acid wash anything. Bleached anything. Tie-dyed anything. Oh, and extreme flare jeans- in my heart I do not believe they look good on anyone person over the age of 15.

Ewwww...I agree. Remember when Bongo jeans were really popular? In middle school, I owned Bongo denim shorts in red, purple and dark blue. Terrible.

The only gold I wear is my aggie ring otherwise no gold for me. I also never wear purple, I am not a fan of the color and have nothing in purple (well except some birth stone rings-amethyst-why oh why did my birthstone have to be the one color I cannot stand?). And ditto to the sweatsuit thing. I was at a semi nice restaurant the other night when a woman walked in wearing her Juicy C. sweatsuit in bright pink-talk about tacky. I also never wear ear rings-too lazy to put them on.

The blue and black thing drives me crazy.
I also refuse to wear jumpers of any kind. I was given several maternity jumpers and I looked like that crazy lady with 18 kids.
Oh, and no plaid, pleated skirts. I went to catholic schools for 12 years, I have no desire to look like I am back there.

my sweats are reserved for outdoor activities or just around the house or grocery store...I don't do navy but I would go brown with accersories if I had to ...crocs are just yuck!!! I change my purse to match shoes/outfit..
(listing is easier...)
tube tops---not much tatas to hold it up
visible bra straps--trashy
shoes and purses or belts that don't match--brown shoes with black purse or vice versa
Uggs
wearing pj pants out somewhere like on campus or in the store...go home and get dressed!
chipped toenail polish--just take it off already...
carrying a high end bag with ANYTHING just because its high end---some things just don't match!!!
I love fashion so I could go on and on.....

http://www.redhatsociety.com/info/howitstarted.html? in their defense, they admit they know it doesnt match!
lol funny, seeing as how red and purple - together - were my favorite colors in 6th grade!

Ugh. The boy made me wear a tie-dyed t-shirt with flared jeans to a Grateful Dead concert. I told him that, if he ever tried that again, HE would be grateful if he was dead!
And a huge blech on the fake designer bags, too, or fake designer anything. Fake "jewels", too - with any fraternal jewelry excluded (I understand they use crystals now). If you can't afford the real thing, don't be a poser.

here's the thing - bootleggers have gotten really good at faking them. if you were going around checking people's labels its one thing (in that case i would be tempted to slap you) but really with the market being so saturated, i think its 50/50 on who has a fake or a real bag.
ok some can look REALLY fake, but i think the only way to know is sitting a real and a fake side-by-side. which i did at a Coach store recently. well let's just say mine couldnt hold a match. but in the street, the average person says "hey, cute bag! coach right?"
of course if youre a true fashionista, which im not, you'd *somehow* be able to tell.
