Uh-oh, guys - I just realized something...I'm wearing a black polo, and my white athletic shoes have 3 navy stripes running down the side.

Crocs are the devil
Low Rise Jeans- they come in plus-sizes... but I'ma pass. I tried them on once, and it just wasn't a good look with all the hips I was blessed with.
church hats - Some are beautiful, but just not for me. I don't dress to impress and compete at church.
Christmas clothes leading up to Christmas. I still have a Christmas sweatshirt my great-aunt gave me as a Christmas gift when I was 14. It's just a keepsake for the Christmas present I had to wait an entire year to use. (Don't do that to your friends and family.)

I often wondered why so many women of color are more apt to wear a hat to church than white women - until I tried to do my cousin's little daughter's hair. I completely agree with Oprah now, that you haven't had a bad hair day until you've been black!

All women have bad hair days..., but Oprah was on point with that one.
Maybe someone else who wears hats to church would be better suited to answer this, but from what I observe, the hats aren't necessarily a coverup on a bad hair day. It's more of the complementing finishing touch on a beautiful suit, to-die-for shoes, and just being on-point when dressing. It is a great look for some women, but hats aren't my thing. Hell, I have a big head. But I swear hats really more of a competiton to see who has the best and/or most unique hat that coordinates with the outfit.

I used to wear Birkenstock sandles, and I bought a pair but I only wore them once. Birkenstocks are so uncomfortable to me. I have a pair of these and they are so uncomfortable so I don't wear them anymore. Has anyone had the same experience I've had with Birkenstocks?

Crocs are a definite no-no.
Leggings as pants. It's one thing if they are under a long top (as in one covering your behind) or a dress, but never as an actual pants (unless you are at yoga and have a cover up for after).
I don't care if you are 90 lbs, no one looks good in them.

It's not that they don't look "good" in them (unless you were LAST in the booty line or have a lumpy one), but IMHO, these girls/women/whatever look like whores. FAR TOO MUCH is hanging out for public consumption! But what's worse? Leggings in cold weather! Now you look like a stupid whore! How does that keep you warm at ALL!?! EPIC FAIL!
I always make sure to insult them without it being obvious. "Are you going to the gym?" "No." "Did you just come from the gym?" "No." "Ohhh..."(Insert Miranda Priestly lip purse & head turn). You need to put on a longer top and hide your shame as my mother would say.

I agree. It makes for awkward coversation though.
Friend: Don't you like leggings?
Me: I don't like leggings because NO ONE looks good in them.
Friend: But I wear leggings all the time!
Me: I know.

sweat pants. They may look ok on some people, personally I don't care for them on myself.

THANK YOU! Ok so everyone I know thinks I'm crazy because I don't leave the house in sweatpants. Yeah, I'll wear them when I'm bumming around but if I have to go to the grocery store or class I'll put on real pants. People who go to class in pajamas make me cringe, and its the ultimate relationship deal breaker for me. You're an adult, put on some real pants and look like you respect yourself and what you're doing.
And really, a good pair of jeans can be just as comfortable.

Slight hijack, but I have to ask...
Why do you keep using the word "thugs" to describe people you don't know, whose actions you are unfamiliar with? I was taught to use that word selectively, and that it describes behavior rather than appearance, but maybe I'm confused
