If you're going to share, please do so via PM, since this sounds like privliged EC info. I wouldn't want somemthing to end up being public info that's not supposed to be.

It was at an alumnae reception...I don't know if I would call it privileged information. However, I do agree it shouldn't be posted for everyone to read. The campuses haven't announced being open for expansion yet anyway.
I will just say they are focusing what seems like larger schools and re-establishing previous chapters

I am so excited that Sigma will be at Mizzou. There will be 2 chapters in Columbia now! My chapter, Eta Alpha, at Stephens College is literally a block away from the Mizzou campus. We actually had a couple Sigma transfers at Mizzou join our chapter unofficially.

Could you please PM me with the locations? I keep hoping and praying we'll get a chapter closer to where I live.

From the Mizzou paper:
http://www.themaneater.com/article.php?id=28475
Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority will recruit members in Fall 2008
A new social sorority will make its way to MU next fall.
In Fall 2008, Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority will colonize at MU. If the organization is successful, it will be the sorority’s 184th chapter.
According to a news release distributed by Greek Life Coordinator Julie Drury, all 13 sororities on campus voted earlier this year to extend the Panhellenic Association community. PHA then notified its national organization and the other 13 chapters that belong to the national organization but aren’t represented at MU had the opportunity to express their interest in colonizing.
Drury said 1,160 women signed up for PHA’s formal recruitment this year, which is 150 more women than the year before. Drury said many women would like to join chapters on campus, but there is not enough room to accommodate everyone. By adding another sorority on campus, Drury said PHA would be able to accommodate more students.
Two chapters were selected from those that showed interest and gave presentations to the 13 chapters at MU. Sigma Sigma Sigma was chosen as the best fit for MU.
Drury said she thought one of the factors that made Sigma Sigma Sigma a good fit for MU is that the sorority is already present at eight other schools in Missouri. MU will join the ranks of Truman State University, University of Central Missouri, Northwest Missouri State University, Missouri State University, Southeast Missouri State University, Missouri Western State University, Stephens College and Culver-Stockton College when the sorority colonizes next fall. Drury said she felt the opportunity to join Missouri’s flagship institution would be a great opportunity for Sigma Sigma Sigma.
Representatives from Sigma Sigma Sigma will begin to market the organization on campus in Spring 2008 and will begin recruiting members to colonize the chapter in the fall. National Sigma Sigma Sigma officers will be present on campus to organize the colonization process and will stay on campus until the chapter can operate independently.
Drury said one of Sigma Sigma Sigma’s most important endeavors next spring will be to meet with many different student groups on campus, including Greek students, non-Greek students, men and women, to get a sense of the campus culture. From that point, the organizers will then speak with students about the best way to market themselves. They will then hold an informational meeting for women interested in joining.
Sigma Sigma Sigma will participate in the first round of women’s formal recruitment next fall, although the sorority will not take part in the consecutive rounds or in Bid Day. The sorority will begin its own recruitment process after formal recruitment is over.
Drury said Sigma Sigma Sigma will get to choose how it will be involved during its first year at MU.
“A lot of sororities offered to show them the ropes for the year,” Drury said. “Their involvement may be on a smaller scale than with other chapters, but they will be involved.”
According to a news release distributed by Sigma Sigma Sigma, the organization was founded in 1898 at Longwood College in Farmville, Va., and was the first national sorority to adopt a zero-tolerance policy toward hazing, institute a six-to-eight-week new member program and start a chapter outside of North America.
Drury said she felt Sigma Sigma Sigma should have no problems recruiting girls.
“They aren’t looking for just freshmen and sophomores,” Drury said. “It will be a different type of Greek experience for the girls starting Sigma Sigma Sigma.”

Just a quick update from the front lines:
Things are going well!! We are currently working on getting information out to interested women and we will be kick starting our recruitment process on Sept. 8-10. Bid Day is on September 12, and Arc Degree will be held on Sept. 14th.
This campus is fabulous, and so are the women! We are very lucky and really looking forward to having a strong and successful colonization (with installation in January!).
