IMO, entertainment shouldn't come at the expense of others, and I'm pretty sure most orgs would not condone some of that sort of activity that goes on on GC. Who here can say they genuinely live by their org's motto on GC? Not many, that's for usre... As for my comment about drama - you don't know me IRL so you really have no room for comment there. I have made some innocent comments that people took too seriously and then the whole thread got blown way out of proprortion, as often happens on GC - that is what I mean by drama finding me (online anyway).

You actually don't know who on GC knows you in real life and just won't say so.

Good point - but I would hope anyone I knew IRL on here would say so. My friends, at least, are people of integrity. I notice you're from DC - do YOU know me? I mean, seriously, was that supposed to be a threat?

ok, I looked at your old posts, and I'm going to spell this out for you because you don't seem to get it.

You got upset that your thread about pledges wearing letters got "heated" and that people were saying you were wrong, and that it was just a tradition that people should accept.

Then you turn around and label things that you aren't familiar with (like eating clubs) as "weird" and when it's pointed out that maybe isn't the nicest word to use, you got all "it's my opinion, quit attacking me!"

You want others to accept your org/chapter's quirks or policies, but you come across as very unaccepting when it comes to other groups' similar quirks or policies.

Hence the antipathy toward you. You can't have it both ways.

You know, one thing I learned the hard way when I was a GC newbie was never to accuse a member of another org of not living by their mottos, creeds or whatever. I can call my own brothers to account for that (privately, of course) but not someone who is a member of a different org. It's a lesson I learned and a rule I stick by.

But I'm about to break the rule, or at least to offer you a mirror.

I have a great deal of respect for ZTA, for a variety of reasons. Unfortunately, much of what you've posted -- including sweeping generalizations that "not many" people can say "they genuinely live by their org's mottos on GC" -- does not seem to match the very admirable motto you've placed in your sig.

It is my opinion that I am seeking the noblest by standing up to people that are wrong. I have not used profanity in doing it and I have tried not to put people down who ask innocent questions and have given people the benefit of the doubt as much as possible. Perhaps what I said was a generaliztion so I will rephrase: I have encountered a lot of people on here that I don't think are living up to their org's ideals as they are expected to do. Thankfully, I have also encountered some really genuine and nice people on here which is what keeps me on GC. I appreciate the lesson though, seriously.

Unless you're in that org, that's not your business. If I have a sister here that I don't think is living up to ASA ideals, I'll deal with it myself, and I would expect everyone else to do the same. If you're going to call someone out who's not a ZTA, call them out personally, not because of their org.

Also, I'm still waiting for you to point out where exactly you were actually SNARKED. Corrected, yes, debated with, yes, told to STFU, yes...but none of this is actual snark.

That is *your* opinion. And, unless you have experienced the entire ritual of all the NPC, NIC, NPHC and other Fraternal organizations, you can't back a comment like that.

No I don't know you IRL, and I think that's just fine by me.

Your comments may have started out innocent, but you're like a freaking dog with a nasty ol' rope toy. You Won't Let Go. Post after post ad nauseum of the same crap. "Whine whine, everybody's so mean."

GC has been around 8 years and many posters have zero tolerance for excessive stupid. A lot of people *tried* to be helpful when you first started posting, but instead of learning from their helpfulness, you kept making asinine comments and then crying "Meanie" when you get called out on the stupid. You're not the first to do so, and you won't be the last, but that's exactly why people have so little tolerance for it.

Oh! Oh! Me Me!

And, like I've pointed out several times, NO ONE HAS REALLY SNARKED YOU PERSONALLY. You want a snarkfest? Check out some of the action that TippieChick and I have had on occasion. And you know what? I still like her.

I will agree to disagree with you about some GCers attacking me personally. I'm not one for searching old threads to check out the drama - so I'll take your word for it. No one here has to like me, just as I don't have to like everyone I encounter. All I've asked from the beginning is that people treat each other with respect and dignity - and I don't think I'm asking for much. It's sad that I have found it hard to find among the Greeks on GC.

I will say that I genuinely appreciate some of the comments made today and I have taken some of what people have said to head (not to heart, I don't take it personally anymore). I will simply say, good game and bow out. On to bigger and better conversations on GC!
