Oh, there was a girl, Miranda, who tried out for four years. But she got the same results as last year: no training camp. At the end she said that as much as she want it she decided to move on. To be honest, I don't blame her for not wanting to try out again. I would try out three times and that's it. I'm glad that Miranda is not like that lady, Jennifer, in the very first episode two years ago. Jennifer had tried out 8 times.
Then there's Cori who was a veteran cheerleader for two years. She didn't make it. I was really sadden that she didn't make it in, because she was one of my favorites.
I was disapointed that Yoshiko (the Japanese lady) didn't try out. She was one of my favorites.
BTW, if the Red Wings ever have cheerleaders on the ice... let's just say I'll be in a sour mood.
Keep cheerleaders off the NHL teams and baseball. By the way, there are cheerleaders on the Cincinnati Reds and Florida Marlins teams. One note, Brooke Sorenson was on the Marlins cheerleader team before she became a DCC last year. On a sad note, she tore her ACL and I think that she's out for the season.

I noticed this year that they assigned the veterans to the new girls this year (sort of like big & little sisters). I don't remember them doing that last year.

I'm not very good at waiting... I already have enough stress in my life. You can go to the DCC web site and see who makes it and who doesn't. I know that my favorite (won't say her name) gets cut as she's not in the team pic. But, after I googled her, I found her on another team's squad for this year.

Who's your fav that doesn't make it? Write it in white or something. I just checked, my fav made it. And then someone I didn't expect to make it, did. Interesting.

Mine too! But because I am very biased. I have known her since 2000, we lived in the same suite together, I helped her with a few pageants and campus campaigns. Very smart, silly and beautifully talented young lady. I JUST saw her at homecoming cheering with the alumni cheerleaders. I was sad that she didn't make it either, but I already knew that.

Ahhh, yes I liked her too until I saw her dancing last week and she just stood out like a sore thumb in her group. She's very pretty and good by all means, but I saw why they didn't keep her.
And God only knows why they've kept Loni this long. She's HORRIBLE. Sure she's pretty, but come on already!

I admit, I cheated and look at the picture online. I was happy that my favorite rookies made the team and one of them I saw who made it I thought "well obviously she improved" (since right now she is on the chopping block) so it will be interesting to see her improve.
Question: I could have sworn I read somewhere that Kelli is a member of a sorority, does anyone know which one? She either went to TCU (Texas Christain) or Univ. of North Texas. (I say that because on the show she said she was at TCU when she auditioned, but online it says she got her degree from UNT).
FYI- She's not ADPi, I've already checked online.

Since when did the Reds get cheerleaders? I've been to dozens of Reds games and have never seen them. I think you're right though, cheerleaders aren't needed in hockey or baseball. I don't understand why they're at wrestling events either.
I do love this show, though! This makes me even more upset, because I don't have cable anymore

I could be wrong, as I've only attended a few Stars games.. but I don't think the Ice Girls are "cheerleaders"... I think they are just there to be pretty and make appearances at events.

The Braves have "cheerleaders" as well. They call them the Tomahawk Team.

I saw the episode a few moments ago and they dig up some dirt about Brandi. They found some unflattering pics on her myspace page. The pics were about Brandi partying, and Kelli said that this was not what we like in the candidates. I think that this is a wise move by Kelli and Judy. I mean, there is nothing wrong with being a party girl, but you need to be more careful.
As for Katie, like Erica, there is nothing wrong with her figure. She is curvaceous. That's all.

I think this episode is something actually GOOD for younger girls to see, in terms of the internet thing. I'm friends with some of my HS-aged cousins and their friends on MySpace/Facebook, and I know that some kids their age will put pics like that up thinking they're cute/cool/sexy/whatever. Also, alot of times when you tell them that what they post can affect real life, they kind of roll their eyes and say "whatever, that won't happen."
I think kids can benefit from actually seeing that the things you put out there can affect you in real life, whether it's with applying for jobs, going through recruitment, trying out for a team like DCC, ANYTHING.

Well said! And in one of my classes, my professor said that bosses can google your name for background information. So if you have any damaging photos that will ruin your chances at anything, take them down immediately! Also, clean up your profile and have an appriate e-mail address without any strong words or symbols in there (like the two numbers that look identical when you flip them). Because if someone googles your name and see something that is not right or if you have an e-mail address that looks too risque, then... you know what happens.
Just a mini-hijack.
