We had a couple Asian girls in my chapter and we referred to one as the "Asian Sensation!" She embraced her nationality but also very much embraced American culture, as she was born and raised in Northern VA. She made fun of herself all the time and it was never an issue that she was "different." She was an awesome collegiate member and now she's a leader in her alum chapter. I don't know but referring to her as the "Asian Sensation" and she feeling the need to make fun of herself says to me that her race was an issue.
