I just learned yesterday that AOII's colony pin is a rose. I always wondered if they just used the Sheaf of Wheat pledge pin, but apparently they started using the rose in the '50s.

Yes it is a lyre... the first musical instrument played on top of Mt. Olympus by the Greek Gods.
