The Hiro story is not that interesting to me, and I really can't believe they killed off his dad in the first episode...what a waste!

I'm with you on the Bennett/Mohinder.... storyline. I wonder who it is (not necessarily the individual guy, but the group) that finally "took the bait".
Do you think Hiro becomes Kensai Takado, and that's how he ends up with the sword? I really like Hiro, but I honestly hate the fact that they brought time travel into the whole show. That just messes up everything - he could easily just go back in time and "fix" things.

SYdney...I was thinking the exact same thing!!!
Ok...here we go....Hiro is actually his father's progenitor......as crazy as it sounds, that's where I think this is going!
He is the reason why his father was part of a secret super group and I think we will find out more about that this season.

here is the clue
http://www.ew.com/ew
scroll down to the lower left side.....on the cover (just saw the mag on the newsstand) Hiro is dressed in Samurai Armor.
It makes sense...Hiro is obsessed with his mission so....why not?
and WHY is peter chained up in Ireland...I get the amnesia part...he probably lost his mind in shock.....anyone thinks that big brother or the company had anything to do with it and his having thier mark on him?

No, if Nathan knew about Peter being alive, he'd be there in an instant. I'm not sure about the company... but I think it's another force. He must have fallen to earth somewhere.

Ok.....let's roll with that...what I am wondering now is Nathan looking in the mirror and seeing burnt flesh....did he also absorb some of peter's power to regenerate? He must have if he survived that blast....

I thought Nathan saw Peter when he looked in the mirror. I know that doesn't make much sense, but I thought (until now) that he saw Peter's face looking back at him. Maybe it was to tell Nathan (and us) that Peter is still alive?
Now, about Nathan absorbing some of Peter's power. I'm not sure that's what happened. I imagined that either (1) at some point in the sky, when Peter was far enough from Earth, Nathan let go... and flew far enough away from Peter to survive; OR (2) Nathan flew with Peter long enough for Peter to absorb his ability to fly, at which point, Nathan returned to Earth, and Peter flew until he exploded.

Peter could already fly, however the creators of the show said he that because he was losing control of the explosion he was unable to "do" anything else.
I thought he saw Peter as well. I think he's 50% sure Peter's never coming back and 50% unable to let go just in case.

I just want to point out that Time Travel has been an integral part of Hiro's story from the beginning....
When he came to NYC...it was either 3 or 6 months...Future Hiro going back in time to talk to Peter...."Save the Cheerleader, Save the World"....many instance in the future. Not to mention that one eppy what 5 years in the future with Sylar posing as Nathan.
We know that Hiro has trouble controlling his ability...that waitress in TX and the loss of his power (again control)...I might think going back to 1671 (not sure of correct year) is a bit much, but perhaps not....beginning of the company with the symbol.
But to say that this eppy/beginning of this season introduced time travel is incorrect.
