Total was JUST raised from 140 to 180, so we're really not that far off. The new pledge class (now numbering 73) is A-MAZ-ING, and numbers-wise, we're simply playing catch-up from 2 and 3 years ago. The past two years of Recruitment have resulted in great numbers for Gamma Phi.

For the life of me I can't understand why LSU fans now hate Saban. He brought you guys a national championship, and the team would not be where it is now without his foundation... oh well. That's for another thread.

To continue the hijack...sorry I just had to.
I get why LSU fans are mad at Saban, might I add, I don't mind a bit because we ended up on the good end of the deal.
If Gene Stallings had left Bama after winning his Nat'l Championship to go the the pro's and then decided to come back to college and took at job at that other school down the road, not to be named by my mouth ever...cowpasture. I would feel beyond angry and betrayed. I think it is more about where Saban went to after he left the dolphins than anything else. I mean they probably wouldn't be mad if he had ended up at a non-SEC school. I could be wrong here, but I feel like it's the rivalry SEC issue more than anything else.
Like I said before though, I don't mind a lick!

That's great to hear! I hope she enjoys SDT as much as I do!!!

Right now, taking party in FR would hurt SDT more then help. I am hoping once we raise our numbers a bit we will start taking place in FR, even if it's just the early rounds.

You hit the nail right on the head. Saban defaulted on his contract with us to chase the NFL which didn't work out for him so he goes to an SEC rival! Where I come from that's called a traitor. Sure...LSU is doing just fine without him. We LOVE our coach, Les Miles....I think he is just as good or better than Saban, but that doesn't get Saban off the hook!!!

You mean you couldn't tell what a traitor $aban was based on the way he bailed his previous team when he came to LSU? $aban is all about money...his only loyalty is to the almighty dollar.
Any program who hires $aban should know that they should take what they can from him during his brief stay there, because he's going to bail at the first call of a larger salary. (Not that there's anything wrong with that, I suppose, as long as the university understands that going in.)
$aban has been stating for years that his dream was to coach in the NFL - if he ever gets another NFL opportunity (which is questionable, of course, based on his performance at Miami), he wouldn't hesitate to bail on 'Bama. Its just the way he operates - he's not the kind of guy who will stay long term anywhere and build a program.
(And yes, I know people who are personally acquainted with him.)
