OK let me start off by saying that I do believe we could all (myself included) use a lesson in personal ethics every once in a while. I am by no means saying that I am the person to teach this lesson but I don't see any harm in a refresher course in niceness.
To AXOAlum - my original post was not directed at you, it was a general statement. If it led you to believe I was writing directly to you, perhaps that is just because the comments hit a little "too close to home." But since your comments did seem to be addressed to me (an assumption I can reasonably make since you did quote from my post in your own), I feel I should respond.
First of all, your history of community service is very impressive and something which you should be very proud of. That kind of dedication is amazing!
Secondly - no, a few sarcastic comments would not and did not deter me from going Greek. I am a proud Delta Zeta and my sisters seem to think that I know what being Greek and being a good sister means. I do think that a few too many sarcastic comments could scare new posters off of this board. If this is their first exposure to the Greek system, it could make them feel unwelcome and leave them with a bad taste about Greeks.
Lastly, I do often find humor in your sarcasm. You can be a very funny person! The only time I have a problem with sarcasm is when it is demeaning to others. There is a huge difference between funny sarcasm and intentionally insulting sarcasm.
