Wow, that is so awful, no matter when or where it happens. In a way, in some messed up way, it seemed that the campus/ admin reacted accordingly, shutting down campus, looking for the gunman (gunmen?), keeping people out of harm's way. Maybe people are learning from VT....

Very sad anytime someone does something like this.
I understand at least a couple of the victims are still alive.
As for a campus not being safe, I really don't see how we could ever guard against this sort of tragedy without turning our campuses into mini-police states.
Thank God these things only happen extremely rarely
