Honey, there are some retro threads that might make you feel better. There always seems to be a Greek Know-it-All in every story that either doesn't get a bid or drops out before Pref. More important than knowing the ropes is to be yourself and keep very open minded.

My countdown has begun!
I see that everyone has given code names in other threads so I'm going to do the same. I'm going to name them after some of the women on Greys Anatomy (my favorite show).

Meredith
Christina
Izzie
Callie

I have met girls from Meredith, Christina, and Callie so far. I have seen the girls from Izzie but have not met any.

I don't watch Grey's Anatomy, but I'll go ahead and root for Izzie since Katharine Heigl was funny in Knocked Up. Also, TinyDancer16 ended up at the chapter she named Izzie.

I forgot! I have been so busy and 2 of my professors decided to give tests last wekk so I was not able to update on what happened.
I wanted to give a day by day update on how everythign went but I am too happy and excited (and busy) to do that so instead, I'll give you a summary of my thoughts, opinions, and the final verdict.

Meredith - They were really nice and the youngest sorority on campus. I liked the girls. In the end, I had to decide that though I made good friends here, I was not meant to be a Meredith. My roommate went here though because she knew she was Meredith before recruitment started.

Christina - My home! They were the girls with the totes that I saw on campus and I was alwasy attracted to their sorority and just the general feeling of happiness when I was with them.

Izzie - They were nice to me but we did not click at all. As shallow and dumb as it sounds, on the first night, one of the sisters was wearing jeans, birkenstocks, and her lettered sweatshirt while the others were dressed up really pretty. I just thought she made a really bad impression on us while everyone else looked like they had put some real effort into impressing us.

Callie - I liked them and they were my #2 choice. They were really nice and it turns out that my PX was a sister of this sorority. I felt somewhat embarrassed afterwards when I found out what her affiliation was because while I did not talk bad about them at all, I confided to her that I would much rather be a Christina than a Callie. She was really nice about it though to me and said I could call her anytime since she considered me a friend.

So the magic question is who is Christina???
Well, I am very happy and very proud to announce that I am a new member of Christina also known as...

HI There,

Welcome to our Phi Sigma Sigma pyramid. Theta Upsilon is a great chapter and you will love Wendy, Tara, and all your other advisors and sisters. I'm an alum from the Iota Gamma chapter at CSUDH.

Come on over to the Phi Sig forum.

to reiterate what everyone else has said, do not feel bad or embarassed abut asking the recruitment counselors what sorority they were in-i'll just bet that you were not the only one asking that question!! and it is a perfectly legitimate question-why should you know that recruitment counselors disaffialiate from their own sororities and on some campus have special t-shirts made with rho chi or rho gamma on them? answer:you shouldn't!

best wishes that you get over your butterflies and are able to enjoy the process. good luck.
