i would be very interested in knowing how quickly/slowly some of the more well-known orgs spread when they first were founded.

Alpha had nine or ten chapters from 1906 to 1911, when Kappa happened.

There's a slim chance an approximation is listed in my history book... I'll try to remember to look that up when I get home.

If you're asking this question for comparitive purposes, it doesn't work. The more established orgs were founded pre-internet, pre-instant nation-wide media, etc.

Their growth would be been far more rapid if they'd had access to the resources we have today.
