This is the exact thing that drives people who have been here crazy.

GC has been around for almost 8 years. Why should it change for the people who have been here 8 days?

No, I don't think there should be stages, and I do think that first time posters can have valid ideas, but it's up to them to learn the atmosphere/posting style (which is NOT 13 year old AOL chat-speak) before they post or, yes, they will get their ass handed to them. There is a reason why new posters are treated the way they are - they are paying for the sins of the trolls who came before them. Right or wrong, it's probably not going to change.

People here take themselves too seriously. And, they especially take other posters here too seriously. To quote another GCer (who I can't think of off the top of my head): If someone is snarky to you, take a look at their past posts, chances are, you're not special. I'm sorry if people can't tell that I'm being sarcastic 90% of the time. I would think MysticCat's quote (which BY THE WAY, I used with permission) in my signature would help a little.

As for people perciving your post as a personal attack, since I'm the person you're talking about, I'll go ahead and say MODS, I don't care if you leave this post up. It doesn't bother me in the least. I'm sure, skylark, you'll get a bunch of PMs saying "Yeah, there's a bunch of mean, nasty girls on here, I'm glad you're nice". (Feel free to share with us how many you get, that's always entertaining.) It's a messageboard. To quote another GCer, "It's not Happy Pony Rainbow Land". Most of us who have been around are straight-up and don't sugarcoat.

I couldn't tell. I always thought you were being serious 90% of the time.

This is a good thread.

I get e-mails from members on here quite frequently. I just read some of my e-mails from them and something that we've noticed is that the members on here who don't hold the popular opinions get chewed out everytime. So basically, if your opinion differs from the popular opinion, you're a troll. That's funny as hell to me. A member can actually be a troll, but if he/she holds the popular opinion, then people not only love this joker, but they think he/she is a real member. Dumb jokers.

Example: There's a joker on here who thinks it's o.k. for a man to wear a damn bra. Most of these silly jokers on here loved this thread too, simply because his thread was popular on GC. A man wearing a bra? What a joke.

honestly, weve all been new on gc. weve all made mistakes like asking a quetion thats been asked a million times because we didnt bother to check out the search function--which by the way is sooo much easier to find since the new gc came out!!. weve all had not so nice responses by gcers that have been on here longer than us. and then weve been the ones that have been on this for awhile and see new people do the same stuff we used to do and get annoyed by it and figure its our turn to treat them the same way we were treated. i guess its a rite of passage on gc? if you get a response you dont like to a thread you posted in, dont respond back. it only adds fuel to the fire. read around for awhile, and then try posting again in a different forum. this isnt real life--youre not gonna see these people face to face (most likely anyways). therefore, if you dont like what people are writing, unsubscribe to the thread and stop reading it!!

**weve is being used generically here. weve doesnt imply everyone. im sure that there are people that have never had this happen to them. but for this forum ive decided to generalize**

Did he have a mustache and constantly talk about his foot fetish?
