sorry... Imagine my face in the store trying to read this girl's shirt (like right behind her) while she's paying for her food and doesn't even notice me because she's too busy talking to someone on the phone. Now that I think of it, Alicia Keys was on the shirt too with AKA under her name so that one was correct. Come to think of it, there may be an assortment of these shirts out there with different people so this one may not have been the exact one Amy has on but I know Oprah was on it with DST under her name. For a minute I was like, did Oprah become greek?

Here's one I found on ebay (just google "Women of Greatness T-shirts") with Oprah and Condoleeza Rice. Now they know they're wrong. Just WRONG!

I'm not familiar with Oprah's or Queen Latifah's background, but I do recall reading somewhere that Condi Rice was a member of an NPC sorority (after some checking, I found it was AChiO) -- so that one is definitely WAY wrong.

Oprah is definitely not a member of any greek organization. And Condi's not NPHC.

Oh now I see...if you scroll up you'll see the back of the shirt with Queen Latifah on it...and she's not a member of NPHC...They are just WAY WRONG!

No, I thought that at first but I think it's saying that all the women on the shirt belong to the NPHC sororities. If you scroll up, you'll see the back of the shirt with Queen Latifah on it. I can't believe that people are out there making money off of fraudulent items.

I was trying to find this pic last week to show to everyone. When I first saw it in the Fashion Rocks magazine I was . Then I thought about it and remember I had a step show shirt when I was middle school with all the greek letters (got it for free because that was when my uncle was trying to promote step shows). I don't have that much of a problem with them, as long they don't name people who aren't in our organizations.

And those t-shirts remind me of the ones they used to have at the Chinese beauty supply stores.

I dunno? But it seems like the same folks that make the "National Champions" shirts are the same ones who screw around with Black Women and our NPHC Sororities...

Maybe, playing DA here, the shirt is a tribute to women of greatness as a whole, rather than touting or attempting to note the affiliation of any one that list. We know that when one speaks of great black women, quite a few members of the D4 are going to come up. Considering we are comprised of the best and brightest of our communities, one would be remiss not to include the organizations as a whole.

All in all though, there's something to be said about the way things are placed. The graphic designer should be flogged.

Yes. The one shirt makes it look like Oprah joined Sigma Gamma Rho in 1922.

yeah i played DA in my head on this... but was like nawwwwwwwww... ol girl needs to take that shirt off. and the magazine says its supposed to be a dress. ummm t-shirts need a bit oftailoring to be dresses. rollingup the sleeves andwearing heels does NOT make it a dress!

(honestly, i saw this and thought "did Jay-Z give her that shirt?" because the first time i heard of Wino, jay-z mentioned how she was gonna blow up one day and to watch out for her." but that's jus mycrazy thinking)
