To answer your question, the real myth is that Omegas sacrifice sweat and time to becom Omega Men. Their process is rather simple. They go to a meeting with their transcripts (and yes even alumni chapters require that you graduated with a minimum GPA.)
After checking transcripts, those who are qualified are asked to stay the others are dismissed. A membership fee is collected and a short ceremony is held and those applicants are initiated as Omegas. The next night there is a celebration where family, wives and girlfriends are invited.
I know all of this because my Dad is a past district basileus.

What website do they use to order the gold boots?

Just asking without condescending
What if one pays with straight-up cash? Just kidding! I think a little sense of humor is in store now.
I didn't lace my questions with any condescending, smart-ass, looking down on someone attitude. I thought this was an open forum with professionals who'd be willing to address sincere questions. Sometimes I think that when some black folk reach or think they reach a certain level they feel it's their right to cut people down. Even when I do become what I want to become I'll always be that people person who genuinely wants to help people even nonGreek!
Thank you for those who answered my questions and thank you for those who weren't so nice. One should be very careful how you address folk. You never know who's online. You get what you put out there!
Besides some of the topics got a little boring and I only asked what many are afraid to ask for this very reason.

When you're at my level, cutting you down isn't a right.... it's an obligation.

Ain't that the truth. I've been trying to tell these snooty women that for the longest.
And as for Senusret, I have already reported him more times than I can count. In fact Darryl Matthews told me an personally (we talked in July when he came here to bring greetings from A PHI A at the Kappa Konklave) saying he will silence him. So be patient and keep asking your questions--I got your back.

Look at the sassy neo!
Man For Change, it is not that people don't want to help those on their journey to Greekdom because SOME do. But for many of us, we've been on the 'Net long enough to be wary of folks who come on here asking membership related questions. Many of our orgs have a zero tolerance policy for those types of questions which translates to message boards.
Not only that but the whole "I don't want to be paper. Pledge me!!! mentality/topic" is tired and those who come on here expressing those sentiments seem more fixated with that aspect of the Greek journey than what really matters in Greek life -- scholarship, service, and brother/sisterhood.
So yes you got clowned, snarked, etc. for this topic. If you look in the Omega forum, the paper/pledge sentiments are rampant.

Man of Change:
I agree with CrimsonTide4. There are some questions, though innocent to us, are offensive or viewed as questions that should not be asked on this forum. Whether you are greek or an outsider. Some questions will get your head bitten off, LOLOL. AS you can clearly see. Some folks are cool about it like Wolfman and CrimsonTide4, but others will get on you and discourage you at the first glimpse of the question. I will not call any names out. It is plain and simple to see. Just be easy with the questions, we all have questions. Especially as an outsider like we are, it is almost like we are walking on egg shells. So we have to be extra careful with our questions.

if you wouldn't ask certain questions to members in person, you think the internet is a better avenue?
