KD
I will preface my comments by saying that KD at Alabama is very strong. This year freshman quota was 73. KD originally had 52 women on their bid list. They have since picked up 16 and have a pledge class of 68. They have an excellent pledge class and will be fine. I guess they will need to work on rush for next year.

That can certainly be a wake-up call. I know we've all had chapters in that situation.

Well, the concept of snap bidding is so those who didn't get a bid can still be picked up and included in the Bid Class, without anyone knowing. COB is your daughter's way to go now.

in addition to chapters under total, chapters who did not pledge to quota may cob until they reach the quota mark.

So does that mean only 52 girls matched up with them as first choice?

Or does it mean that they only invited 52 girls to pref?

If 52 is how many pledges they had after Bid Matching, they went to the bottom of their Bid List and didn't fill quota. I'm sure they had more than 52 at the pref parties -- no one gets 100% return after pref.

Wow congrats to all the new members at Bama & all the sororities for doing a fabulous job. We could only dream about those types of numbers here up north.

Tell me about it! Our entire chapter isn't even as big as these pledge classes.

I think in all the sororities at Bama, most sisters know mainly their pledge class. However, I roomed with a senior in the house during my sophomore year, and I got to know a lot of the older girls that way. Then when I was on Exec board, I got to know all the younger members.

I would just like to say that the description of sisterhood on the Gamma Phi's page for Bama is beautiful and makes me get kinda mushy even though I'm not in a sorority. It's the best explanation of what you all try to convey each time you talk about 'sisterhood' that I, as a non-greek, have read yet. Kudos to you ladies, and congrats on a successful recruitment

It's under the "scrapbook" section: http://www.uagammaphibeta.com/scrapbook.htm
It's credited to anonymous, but I think it's lovely regardless.
