I am just imagining the next Carnation daughter at rush (if there is another one after Sweet Tea) when someone is asking her, "Are you a legacy? or is anyone in your family Greek?" and she answers "Yes, my mother was a Pi Phi, My sisters are AOTT, Chi Omega, ZTA, and Phi Mu". I would pay money to see the look on the person's face that asked her the question!

Hmmm..... I wonder if there is an entry in the Guiness World Book of Records for most Greek Organizations in one family....

Congratulations Carnation and Sweet Tea!

Congratulations Carnation and Sweet Tea!
Yep, there are at least 3 more daughters but the oldest is 13...I get a break from sorority recruitment although the 2 oldest boys are in high school.

The tally, not including cousins and aunts and others out of the immediate family:

Pi Phi-- one mom!
AOII-2 daughters!
Chi O-2 daughters!
ZTA-1 daughter!
Phi Mu-1 daughter!

No hint intended with the flower code names--I thought about the Southern rush theme, looked out the window, saw our huge crapemyrtle, and the idea was born.

Sweet Tea is overcome with happiness. She called after the Bid Day party and was chattering away ninety to nothing--"I have a bid day buddy! They gave me a pink Bid Day shirt! I want to redo my room in pink! We're going to the movies tonight and we have our first meeting next Sunday!"

Her dad and I are so happily tired after the tense week; she only knew one Greek woman at her university. When I told him about Phi Mu, he said,"We'll be flooded in pink!" and I was astounded that he had remembered that from years of rushes. Then he left to go call his preppy Ole Miss Phi Mu cousin!

Aren't there also friends and suchlike in the Carnation nation? What happens when you include all those to the existing Carnation brood - how close to the full NPC do you get?

Just think of what daughter #9's response will be to that question. There could potentially be 2 more sororities in the mix.

Congratulations Carnation on a new carnation to the bunch! (Maybe another daughter will go AChiO or Gamma Phi and you'll have all of the carnations!)

Congratulations to Sweet Tea and Phi Mu, Lil Lady and ADPi, and their friends for joining Phi Mu and KD!

Wow! Carnation, I had no clue you had so many children. How wonderfully proud you must be of the older ones for getting into college and becoming involved with greek life! Have you ever posted pictures of the crests you have sewn? Forgive me for lacking knowledge on the propriety of that, but if it is appropriate to do so, I would love to see them.

Congrats to all of the girls for such a happy ending
