My mistake
I thought I'd checked the threads, I sort of got lost in the "Newbie top question" thread in the dozens of posts. I'm sorry for making the #1 newbie mistake.
But honestly I don't see much wrong with being inspired by Animal house. What other mainstream movies were there out there that gave a look into the process like rushing,pledging, hazing, etc.
Plus, if you take the time to read the book by Chris Miller it's a very interesting coming of age story about pledging in the 1950's. I'm not saying that I take everything from animal house to heart but it sparked an interest into what fraternities are really about.
