Really? I thought they were trying to become a multicultural sorority.

I've probably said this before, and if not, I'm sure somebody else did, but I really miss JustAMom (JAM).
The difference is that we know why she left us.

Yes we do, because she could dish it but couldn't take it. If you want to enter into political discourse, you need to be able to handle opposing views and not take them all as personal attacks. Especially when you're throwing it just as much. A lot of people on GC can't do that.
I don't think it's fair that she's made into a martyr by some people on here. I'm sure she's a nice lady and all, outside of political discussions she seemed okay. However, some people like to frame it like some GCers ran her off. She left on her own volition, her own choice, because she wanted to dish it but didn't want to take it in return.
I realize this is old news, but it is annoying that people make this like she was driven away.

I thought that too. It's been a while since I've read Corina's (wishinhopin) thread, but I vaguely remember something about not getting enough interest and help from the NPC and by then they had explored things with Theta Nu Xi?
I recall reading that KKG eventually came on campus. I had no clue that there was a connection between the two. Is there a link on GC documenting that?

Oh my DAMN I just read the majority...well, skimmed really the wishinhopin thread and I have a HEADACHE!!!!!! SO BAD!
I don't know what became of any of those people individually, but all I can tell for sure is that there is no chapter of Theta Nu Xi there...right?

You're right. The requirements to start a new chapter of Theta Nu Xi are rather stringent, which is why we recommend that interests not advertise their interest until the time is right.
These two links might shed some light on the final outcome:

I made an educated guess because I was curious as to the outcome. When I surfed through the UC Santa Cruz site, I saw that NBO was not listed as a student org but KKG had recently come to campus. I believe Alpha Psi (the other local) still exists, so I drew the conclusion that it may have been NBO who became KKGs. I have no way of backing this up. I think only a KKG could actually get any verification on this as fact.

How could this be, though? Didn't NBO fold when Corina and Andrea graduated? From what I remember they didn't have too many girls to begin with and that's why I'm assuming that that's what happened once the Theta Nu Xi possibility didn't work out.

Beats me. Something must have happened between now and then. If only the college website didn't suck so much, the KKG chapter would probably have a webpage and a history. Now I'll have to bug a Kappa on here to see if they can do a little digging. It would make sense if NBO continued on, but if not, then I'm making stuff up again. I do that a lot. (Not really, that better not end up as someone's signature!)

I checked our website. There's no mention of the UCSC chapter being formed from a local. I think they'd mention it if it were the case. There is a write-up about our 3 new chapters and there is a specific mention that one of the other chapters, Knox College, was formed from a local.
