THE history book, of course. If you get your hands on a copy prior to the Jewel switcheroo, that's interesting too.

Henry Arthur Callis: Life and Legacy by Charles H. Wesley. Available through the general website.

The Centennial Book of Essays and Letters
is an EXCELLENT resource. Comprised mainly of reprints of articles from the Sphinx, it has taught me so much in the past year. My only complaint is that it doesn't have an index. I hope to buy a second copy in Orlando. (One to keep, one to highlight)

Jewels: The Story of the Founding of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity is historical fiction by Brother Darrius Gourdine. It is available through most black bookstores or his website. (I haven't read it, but brothers say it's good)

The Talented Tenth by Herman "Skip" Mason. Biographies of the Jewels and all of the past general presidents up to Adrian Wallace. An AMAZING book. Much of the research for Jewels was based on this book.

Charles Harris Wesley: Words of Wisdom by Dr. Janette Hoston Harris. (An AKA, Gamma Sig, and wife of an Alpha as well as a protege of Dr. Wesley. It's 25. She has no website, but if you want to order a book, PM me and I can call her for you.
