80s Bridal Fashion Strikes Again

I seriously need to share this with someone. I was looking for a veil online and came across this monstrosity:

wow...just...wow.

Excuse me while I clean up the vomit. As my friend's 4 year old nephew would say, "No, because that is gross!!"

How much is it? I'm going to be a mail-order bride for Halloween and I would love to get that for my costume.

On the upside it would totally cover any last minute cyclopse-esque zit that appeared on your forehead on the big day. That should be a selling point. haha

If I wore it, I'm afraid my eyes would cross and get stuck that way.

I was recently perusing in a bridal store, and online, a lot of the stuff is super fugly, and sometimes the dress is okay, and then the headpiece is just demented. I always crack up at veils/headpieces with feathers or other random crap thrown in. I kept singing Barry Manilow's Copacabana because the pictures had feathers in their hair, and a dress cut down to there. I saw so many dresses that looked like a post Civil War or Wild West madam that just killed me because they come in these outrageous jewel tones. Scarlett O'Hara and her curtains with rooster feathers all the way.

I'm in your camp PhoenizAzul, no strapless dresses for me, which is actually nice because that really cuts out a lot of dresses and narrows the choices.

What is with this hat? It reminds me of something an older lady would wear to church on Sunday, but it would be in a different color, and match her suit. I am as to why they have a white hat, with a not white dress, it looks off.

Maybe this is the story .. .

"Who has the veil? Where is the veil for this lovely ivory dress??"

"I can't find it!" "We're losing daylight!"

"You - old lady coming out of the church - fork over that white hat so we can finish our photo shoot!"

I am also horrified by the resurgence of the BUBBLE SKIRT. So many prom and bridesmaids dresses have bubble skirts, ewwwww.
