Mu Phi Epsilon and Delta Omicron, both originally music GLOs for women only, went co-ed in the 1970s.

Now that would make sense.

Delta Upsilon
1. Delta Upsilon is the sixth oldest Greek-letter fraternity being founded in 1834.
2. Delta Upsilon is larger than the oldest five fraternities combined.
3. Delta Upsilon was the first fraternity founded as a non-secret fraternity.
4. Delta Upsilon was the only NIC or NPC society to be founded on the Williams College Campus.

In the most recent survey, fifty percent (50%) of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority members indicated that they were in the field of education... taken from http://www.aka1908.com/present/membership/

Every Zeta Beta Tau website I've researched (including Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) has Zeta Beta Tau as being founded December 29, 1898 at City College of New York. "On December 29, 1898, he [Dr. Richard J. H. Gottheil] formed a Zionist youth society with a group of Jewish students from several New York City universities." This is the closest I've seen to anything about Columbia. And that the professor was a teacher at Columbia. I tried to confirm the founding at the Zeta Beta Tau HQ website. However, I could not find a history of the fraternity on their site.
In any case, I am more than happy to edit my post.

Did you see that you can actually buy THE Green Bean Casserole in the frozen food section? Green Giant makes it, in the square box.

One of our founders was all of 13!

Gotcha. But according to the Delta Omicron website, the name appears to be Delta Omicron International Music Fraternity.
There used to be a fairly regular Delta Omicron poster here, Ginger, but it seems to have been about 2 years since she posted last.

The About tab is at the bottom, not very conspicious...

It's hard to find.. you have to look at the bottom and click in 'About' to get to the history.
"Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity was inspired by Richard J. H. Gottheil, a professor of languages at Columbia University and a leader in the early American Zionist movement. On December 29, 1898, Professor Gottheil gathered together a group of Jewish students from several New York City universities to form a Zionist youth society. The society was called Z.B.T."

I guess it could go either way since he taught at Columbia but the members were from New York City Universities...
ETA: Looks like AlphaFrog and I found this about the same time..

To be fair, it's awfully... PINK for a fraternity

Delta Upsilon was the first Fraternity to have members in roles of:
President of the United States,
Vice President of the United States,
Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court,
Prime Minister of Canada.
The only other Fraternity to share this honor is Psi Upsilon

Since the first members were "from several New York City universities," and since the history doesn't say where they first met, I wonder if they first met at City College even though Gottheil was from Columbia. Just a guess.

I had that same thought. Reminds of when my son disappeared from his sister's Barbie birthday party because, in his words, "it's just a little too much pink."
But, of course, DO was founded as a sorority.
FWIW, the Wiki says that the colors are "Old Rose and Pearl Gray."

I assume you mean the first to have a member in each of these four positions?

Just to keep the terminology straight, Barnard maintains some independence from Columbia and is usually classified as one of the Seven Sisters rathar than as part of the Ivy League.
