i feel you. my day job is pretty low stress. people are nice enough because they NEED me. when people act up, i walk away, so i guess it's a 3 most days on a scale of 1 to 10. the day it hits 5 is the day i leave, LOL. the low stress day job is the ONLY way i have the energy/desire to continue with my night job.
the night / seasonal job is photography. screaming kids should be stressful, but they're not. it's their snotty parents who try to run my shoot. i'm all for suggestions but for real, you came to me because you want PROFESSIONAL photos done. if not, stay at home and break out your kodak 110 and leave me alone. most nights my stress from that job is a 5. occasionally hitting a 7, but only because people are stressed by the time they get to the studio and they wont let themselves relax, then they try to transfer that stress to me.

nothing brings out the pageant mommy in me like a photography session...that 15 minute drive there can result in dirty clothes, crying for no reason, bad attitudes...its like they know how to ruin the picture before they get there lol! after you tack on the initial time for bathing and an hour for hair your nerves are SHOT!!! still, i try not to have an attitude about it. its my childs fault, not yours!

My daughter is usually a happy, laughing child, and she loves for her "Bama" (what she calls grandma) to take her picture...but you get her in front of a professional camera, and she looks like someone just kicked her puppy.

wow IDK you totally are my BFF (the "D" in this case stands for definitely)
this is the epitome of my job. and my ex-boss had the heaviest Indian accent - so anytime i hear the word "backup" i hear his thick azz voice screaming, "where is the backup??!!!!!?"

I'm Director of Communications for a regional healthcare system. On good days, it's a 2 and during crazy periods it's, oh, a 50. Most of the time it's fun, though.

Non profit consultant- stress level at a solid 8, although I enjoy it- meeting with the high muckety-mucks is great and a wonderful opportunity, it just requires a LOT of preparation and attention to detail. Not to mention people can lose their jobs based on my recommendations, and it's something I take very seriously. Not to mention wearing a suit and being well turned out EVERY day (no more flip flops at work) is more than my casual behind is used to (although I enjoy it thus far).

Mine can go from 1 to 10 at any given moment. Today was definitely a 1. I'm not sure I even did anything useful today.. well, I guess I did, this morning. Last week though? I was so busy I never sat down and stayed late every day. Doing IT just varies so much. Oh, and it helps this week that 7 of our 8 managers are on vacation this week, including our department chair. We're trying to convince the 1 remaining manager that we should have a retreat at her cottage on Friday. I don't think we're getting anywhere though
