I am really enjoying your story. My school only had 2 chapters and rush was nothing like this. Please continue for those of us who did not have such a huge rush. Besides I want to know whether you both pledged the same sorority or not.

Thanks in advance!

I agree. My advice for those who don't like it is simply this:

don't read it.

"mean girls" do not intimidate me...

"mean girls" do not intimidate me...
syd and i both live and work in what was once definitely a "man's world." when a man does a good job... he is just great, super. but the double standard is that when a woman does a great job... those very same men think that she is a total bitch. sad indictment for 2007... but even worse, it is true. well ladies, syd and i are really great at what we do... believe me we are both driven to succeed. and no... we do not work with or for our father. our lives certainly do not have a pretend, made up "story book ending." our father was killed in an awful accident while we were still in college and that changed our lives forever. there is not a single day that we both do miss him, he will always live on in our hearts. our mother has never been the same... nor have we. but life goes on... and you deal with it.

and speaking of dealing with things... we have both dealt with "girls" like the "snark queens" forever... and so have most of you. they do not deter me nor do they intimidate me. honestly... the tend to clique together and really get tacky and mean because they are really very, very insecure. look at them... their little groups and how they all follow each other. sadly, they are a dime a dozen... all of you know that because sadly you have had to put up with girls like that your entire lives... because some of them never grow up. they love to criticize everyone (and each other behind their backs)... but they really know deep inside that everyone intensely dislikes them and dismisses them.

cheers!

I was thinking the exact same phrase but I couldn't figure it out.
I do not have a job so I am not on any company time but my own. My new job is sales and I work when I want and if I want but I haven't started yet so it wouldn't matter anyway. But I agree with you on that and was wondering the same thing.

I too am very sorry for your loss. I do not know what it is like to lose a parents, but I do know what it was like to lose a sibling. My step-sister who I was very close with and older than me by many years died when I was 9 in a car accident. You never get over the trauma of losing a loved one, but with time it does get a little better.

OP, I think you may have just thrown down the gauntlet in what might become a long digression, but I want to say this: you really should take a look at any book from the Sweet Valley High series. I think that you would completely understand a lot of what was said about the thread.

Sooooo what's going on? Are you posting or just ranting about people who are calling you out on the possibility of fiction in your recruitment story?
