Great Story, Great Graphics! I'm so glad you finally found your "home"! It was quite a ride and I'm guessing you treasure your membership just that much more because of all you went through to get there.

Best thread ever.

I'm sorry that one of my sisters said something like that to you, ugh! I'm glad that you loved us anyway

This was a wonderful thread. I've loved all of the retro recruitment threads; they've been fantastic, and you took them to new heights!

I'm sorry I misunderstood about the bid promising. I think I thought you were told to wait a year in a conditional kind of way. I apologize.

I loved everything about the thread, and I admire your resilience through the whole process. And your positive and forgiving feelings about groups even after experiencing some challenges are really inspirational.

I loved your story.

(Side note, I'm glad to hear that our chapter that closed was one that had made a good impression on you the first time around, but it makes me sad that just a few years later they closed anyhow. )

Still though, glad you found your home, despite all the ups and downs, and I hope that everything in your personal life worked out for you too.

Great story!!!

Can I ask why Kappa was closed? They didn't seem to be struggling when you rushed and that's just a really short amount of time to go from elite to being shut down

That's an interesting question...I hadn't even picked up on that.

Generally (and I mean that generally for most NPCs on all campuses - I have absolutely no knowledge of that chapter at Maryland and am not trying to talk about them specifically at all), when a very strong chapter closes I'd assume it was for a risk management issue. (Again, not saying that was the case for KKG at MD...just going off a tangent about what I personally would assume if I heard that an "elite" chapter of XYZ was closed on some campus.)

I have to agree with everyone else on this. While I have loved reading all the retro threads, this one takes the cake. I never saw any of those twists coming. You found your home in Kappa Delta and it became a great decision for you! Your thread gives me hope lol

Leslie and I have talked about this at length, many times over and she knows how sincerely I mean when I say:

Its not what you become, but what you've always been

I applaud my very good friend for being the very strong person that she is to go through all this joy and heartache to finally find her home. Not to take anything away from the wonderful sisterhood of Delta Gamma, but if you've met Leslie in person to me she embodies what Kappa Delta stands for!

I am very proud to call her my Farmville Four sister!

{{hugs}}

That was so fantastic and entertaining! You write really well. I just read all of that in one sitting. I want to go back and read the comments, I completely skipped them - I was dying to find out what happened!
