[QUOTEDid not see that one coming. Certainly one of the least savory twists in the retro-thread movement. Ugh.][/QUOTE]

I said it was SHOCKING!

Not everyone's stories are all about cute outfits and finger sandwiches. Lol

If your story involved finger sandwiches & cute outfits, I sure as hell wouldn't be reading it. I like fraternity rush stories much more. I like the different perspectives that a man offers whereas the girl stories tend to have too much "what should I wear?" "will XYZ like me?" and "It was so moving I cried!"

Keep going! I want to hear what happened now that you completely got sick & missed rush.

FYI, glad to see you recovered though. Those stomach flu's are nasty! I've been there and it's not fun.

It's a good thing my boss is on vacation this week...

So the story continues...

I finally get to go back to my dorm room late Saturday afternoon. I'm still feeling incredibly puny, but fortunately I'm no longer sick. My roommate has by this time gone back home to his parent's (he was from about an hour away), because he came down with the same thing after being in the same room with me for less than an hour!

Now back in the day (before the earth cooled and the dinosaurs came), at good old BSU, every dorm room had a little box in the wall that housed a (rotary) phone that was shared with the room next door. When I came back, Mike and Bill, my next door neighbors gave me the message that "Some guy named Brad from Buick called like 12 times while you were gone."

Well, I knew it could be either good news or bad news, so I called Brad at the Buick house. Fortunately it was good news. "No one knew what happened to you, and we were afraid you dropped out of rush when you didn't accept your invitation."

I explained to Brad what had happened and that yes, I was still very much interested in becoming a part of Buick. We agreed that tomorrow, if I felt better he would pick me up and I would come down to the house in the afternoon.

I later went down to the lobby to check my mailbox. Inside were the rush invitations I had received for Friday and Saturday's events. There were invitations from Buick and Porsche for both days, but there were also two invitations from BMW! That absolutely floored me. The house where I got snubbed by an active on round robin, and then hadn't returned to once invited me to their invite only parties???

We had those at Eastern Michigan too. They *really* impeded privacy when you had a visitor, didn't they?
