okay time for 4 rounds- Skit time i believe
For 4 rounds I got back
Dublin
London
Paris
Copenhagen

Copenhagen-Again the conversation was forced. I think when i talked to the girls we both kind of new i didn't fit in here. Their skit also wasn't not very well rehearsed. I wasn't too impressed although they tried hard.

Dublin-Instead of a skit they showed a video of themselves. I really liked this. The video was cute and it looked like everyone was bonded. The girls here and I clicked for the most part. One of the girls told me she had this disease that was kind of something I couldn't relate to at all. It made things a bit awkward. I wasn't sure how to respond.

London- By this time I had been talking to one particular girl throughout recruitment. I had mentioned I wanted to get involved in 2 particular groups on campus and they had me talk to a girl who was already involved. She was awesome and we just talked the whole time about everything. The skit they did was really cute, I liked it alot and it was well rehearsed and funny.

Paris-The girls here sang a song for the skit. It was cute if a little cheesy. Some of the girls didn't even seem like they wanted to sing it. The convo i had here was good, and I liked the girls here alot.

Okay Time for ranking

Paris
London
Dublin
Copenhagen

to be continued...

I am rooting for Paris it's my favorite city in the entire world and since thats one day where I want to live (atleast for a little while), but London is amazing too and has wonderful museums, but it doesn't have the pizzaz as Paris...I hope you get your first choice!!

Preference Night!!!

So the next day I got my list of 2 houses for preference!
The Houses I received were Dublin and London. I was pretty shocked because I thought for sure i had gotten paris because i had met the president, good conversations, knew someone who went to my high school was in this sorority. So I thought for sure i'd get it. I was pretty disappointed and when I talked to my rho chi's they said that I should go to the 2 houses that i recieved and check it out and if i was unhappy to just drop and try again in the spring. I took her advice and it was the best decision of my life!

So I went to
Dublin and London

First was Dublin
Dublin- we sat in their informal living room and ate chocolate cake and chatted with a girl that we had talked to on previous occasions. They wrote us letters which was nice and cute, but I had thought that I had only really talked to this girl for a short time that writing a letter was kind of weird, but i thought okay this is a sorority so maybe its not so weird. The ceremony part was nice although i wasn't very moved by it like i know the rho chi's said we might be, but overall i'm not a very emotional person anyway. It was a nice preference overall.

London- I was matched up with the girl who i had talked to the longest during recruitment, the one who was involved in the same clubs that i had wanted to join. We sat in the formal living room in pairs in cute little tables and we had cheesecake brought out to us with our names spelled out in chocolate sauce on the plate . The living room was dark with lots of christmas type lights so it was very pretty. After we talked for a while over cheesecake, we heard some speeches by some of the sisters. Then we went to another living room and had the ceremony. I wasn't emotional but this ceremony just felt alot better to me. I liked it alot and felt connected to it even though I had no idea what was going on haha. After the ceremony, we went back to where we were sitting and chatted some more. Soon it was time to go and I really didn't want to leave, i wanted to stay.

Now Time for Rankings
I decided not to suicide so I ranked
London
Dublin
to be continued.... (only if i get some more replies) haha jk

Remember in NutBrwHair's thread some members were joking around, and one made a comment that turned her way off, and I was wondering if the members even knew how critical certain comments were in people's memories of the event?

Now, I'm guessing the member in this case was trying to convey something relevant her experience in the group or to her daily life at school, but it must have come across really differently to her PNM.

Bid Night!!!

Okay so everyones gathered in the student union ballroom. Finally they hand out the cards to everyone. On the count of 3 we rip them open!

and the card reads..........

ALPHA DELTA PI!!!

That was the best decision I ever made to stick with preference night and not wait until the spring. I have been a proud member of ADPi since the fall 2006 semester and I can't wait to have formal rush in the fall!!

First Finest Forever

PM me if you'd like to know what each sorority was!
Hope you enjoyed my story!!

After the bids are handed out we each take pictures with our new member class and then rush out of the union to the cheers of our respective sororities and then up into the suite.

And London, my favorite city, was ADPi!! I was so glad to get my first choice!!

Great story! I'm becoming addicted to these retro-recruitment threads. I don't remember enough details from two years ago to do my own (short term memory loss at the age of 21...) so I'm living vicariously through all of you. Thanks for sharing!

ADPi, congrats!

Great story and happy about ADPi. surprised Honeychile has not posted her, so is great. Neat sister. I am so glad you found a great home. Great story, great ending. I loved reading about this. Northern rush is so different than what I am used to. I find it fascinating. Hope you love it as much as I do Kappa. LOL

I assume then that the other house you preffed was DPhiE? I guessed based on the video. I know who you talked to there as well. I think I know a couple of your others ones too.
