My niece dances competitvely. She's only 7, so of course the routines are pretty tame.
However, when I travel to see some of her competitions and look at what some of the junior high and high school girls are wearing/doing...
It makes my husband very uncomfortable to go to my niece's recitals and competitions, b/c he feels awkward watching those girls doing those moves knowing they're all of 15 years old.
My niece will be performing at Nationals next month, so we'll be seeing a variety of young women from all across the country. Won't surprise me in the least to see some very suggestive performances from young girls all across the country.
If that's the kind of stuff that wins awards in competitions while you're still a tween or teen, suppose its no big shock that the college girls would do the same thing. (Not saying that I agree w/it...just seems to be the way it is in the dance world these days.)
