Lunchbox

Ladies, Think back to the Florida Convention 4 years ago. We got these neat bright blue lunchboxes with yellow letters on them with the Conversation Cafe luncheon. Mine was stolen from the school refrigerator. If you still have yours, and don't use it, I would LOVE to buy it from you. I used mine every day to take my lunch to school until it was stolen.

Thanks!

Thank you for reminding me that I promised mine to you ... I don't use it and it should be used. I just went and got it out of the cabinet and will put it in my suitcase tonite ... find me in Indy and I'll give it to you.

Talking My First Day at Convention

My plane arrives an hour late in Indianapolis. It is 6 pm before I get to the hotel, and the welcome dinner starts at 6, so I am in a hurry. I check in, rush through the shower. Then I change into a cute dress...makeup, hair, jewelry, excruciatingly high heels.....and head off to the 3rd floor. I was hoping I would be there in time to eat. You know how these dinners sometimes go. Everyone finds a seat...introductions and welcome, bread, salad....lots of conversation...it can be a good 45 minutes before they actually serve food. I look in every banquet room. I was too late for registration, so I don't have my packet telling me the room numbers, and I keep checking banquet rooms.....every single one..... Finally I go to the front desk. They look it up. Sure enough, the banquet starts at 6, and is on the 3rd floor.... TOMORROW NIGHT. Yes folks, you got it. I arrived a day early. I am all dressed up, starving, and have no idea what I want to do. I ask the nice people at the front desk, and they recommend the restaurant on the top floor (of course)- Look at my photos when you get a chance. It is one of those revolving restaurants. Service is excellent. Food is fantastic. I took a lot of pictures, and enjoyed my meal while reading Cryptonomicon.

I had great conversation with the guy sitting on my right on the airplane. Turns out that he and his wife live in Indy, and his wife was an Alpha Xi at IU!! So we talk for the next hour about sorority, his children and our jobs. He is going to tell his wife that Convention is this week and encourage her to come to some of the events. He gave me his card so I can email the details to him.

So, in spite of arriving so early, I had a great day!!

Am I the only one a little disappointed with the pictures? While it was great to have a photographer willing to take them, did we really need 7-8 pages of the 5K? The Rose Banquet was gorgeous, but how can you tell? Why couuldn't he go from table to table to take groups? That beautiful theater for the awards can't be seen either. It was also obvious which young women he was interested in, there's lots of their photos!

I deleted the email with the password for the pictures, so i wasnt able to see them =(

I was more disappointed with the speed of the memorial ceremony. It was too fast to read and enjoy.

Password was letters and founding date, although why have them secure anyway??

You're right about the memorial service, I forgot that on my eval. It was way too fast to get any kind of idea what was written about all those great women or to even just read the names.
