Where do I begin with this familiar topic? I think that it does exist on some campuses, however, a lot of bglos are struggling to survive so they feel that they must place most of their time and energy on maintaining the policies and procedures of their perspective organizations. Let's face it on many of our historically white campuses African Americans (students) are just trying to survive or stay a float.
When I was an undergraduate soror (SGRho) my chapter got along with practically all of the greeks because we were known as those scholarly ladies that did a lot of community service and could put on a nice step show. We worked well with other bglos and independents. Even on the stepshow stage the only thing that the other sororities could come up with was and I quote "where do you ladies come from or Sigma gamma what?" The other sororities never could come up with anything really unkind to say about us. And when I was an undergrad there was always 9 to 14 sorors in the chapter.
