So true! The chapters put the fear of God into you to avoid infractions! This included communication with disaffiliated sisters serving on Panhellenic! In 99, I was a PX and I remember the day before Greek Forum I was in the Union with a bunch of PXs and one of my chapter sisters who was also a close friend walked by me and literally looked right through me!

I never thought much of this. We always referred to the groups as chapters. It wasn't until I worked with ADPi chapters in other places like California and Washington State that I began to hear the term "house" a lot more, and it bothered me-- a chapter makes me think of something belonging to a greater whole. A house is ... a house.

I know it's tough being dropped by a favorite and I know it's hard not being invited back to the max number of chapters. But, I'm sure there are other women who were invited back to less parties than you. Keep your chin up and go in there with the great attitude I know you have! You'll find your home! Stick it out.

And, as all GCers faithfully say: IT ONLY TAKES ONE!

But, this is a retro thread, so I'm just going to ask you to post an update soon!

(I know what you mean though - it stings to be dropped, even if you didn't particularly love the chapter. You want to be the one doing the dropping, darn it. )
