#1 I have no clue

#2a I suspect that the stuff would be held by the new chapter of LXA and would be appropriately displayed in the library or someplace of similar significance at the local chapter. I know at Cal we had a plaque from our local (The Skulls) that was mounted above our fireplace until it was stolen in the late eighties.

#2b I know of no ritualistic bonfire ceremony

I was telling Trey last night, this may be one of those adventures that is dead before I start... Not that I am not going to add it to my list of things to dig around for, but finding an 80 year old pin that to anyone who is alive is non-existent, might be a bit tough.

Here at Lambda Epsilon, we were founded as a local by the name of "The Gilgal" in 1928. We still have some badges on display in our Chapter Room and we also have the original flag on display. Gilgal still means a lot to our chapter because for the better half of our existance as a chapter, we were Gilgal. We have the ritual preserved as well.

Dever,

The badge and pledge pin of Pi Sigma Alpha are on display at IHQ, having been donated by Melvin Robert Bergman, Gamma-Tau 16. He was the third High Alpha (Russell Rader Fling, G-T 1, was the first). Both were class of 1923.

Bergman was instrumental in the purchase of the brick house on 15th Avenue, just half a block from the main university entrance.

Jono my friend, if you are pulling encyclopedic knowledge out of your head I am scared and impressed.

I really had no idea that we had a badge on display at HQ. Makes me wonder what else is laying around there. As I have been saying for quite a while now, our chapter's local history is seriously lacking. Whether it be poor planning, or just the test of time, I know absolutely nothing about what we did here before the 60's. I have dug through just about every single document we have here at the house, but I wish we had more tangible items aside from pieces of paper containing chapter minutes.

I am thinking about making a trip to HQ this summer, my grandmother lives about 30 mins away and I need to go see her. Any of you regulars interested in showing a young guy around?

It's great you are interested in the history of your chapter. Thanks for the compliment, but I just have some reference materials here in New York.

I'm sure if you contacted someone at headquarters, they'd be happy to show you around if you made a visit. I was there once and had a nice time.

Brother Jono is correct as if it is "the one" time, I was with him.

While we were dissapointed at the moment, it is still a neat place to visit! I feel lucky that I have been able to see our IHQ!

It is awesome but much smaller than it looks and is a working IHQ!

Let them know you are coming and you will be well received as they are great people working there!

PS, I do have a Local Pin from Auburn Un.

I think I may know where it may go!

They've got their hands full right now trying to get ready for Leadership Seminar. How about holding off on that until August? I may even be back there mid-August for something entirely different and a stop in Indy would be easy indeed.

I've never had a desire to visit HQ, probably because it is in the middle of Indiana. I mean, Indiana, come on guys! A ticket to Cancun or a ticket to Indiana, hmmmmmm... When they move to Florida, count me in!

I was just curious as to what you do when you visit HQ? As someone said, it is a working HQ. Do they give you a quick tour? Do you just go around and visit people? Do you have access to the archives?

Is it more like visiting an office, or more like a museum?

I try to acomplish some business when I visit; for example, my last stop was for perhaps an hour, to drop off the ritual books from Cal State Fullerton.

There will be some work done on the Constitution & Stat Code over the summer and I may visit HQ as a part of that endeavor. When that jells I will let you know what is going on. Where will you be traveling from?
