Wasn't the book supposed to come out before the movie at one point? I thought that was dumb, to see what happens in 7, then backtrack to 5. I'm glad it's this way...I'M IMPATIENT!!

Someone told me today that Books 6 and 7 will be combined into 1 movie, to make only 6 total. Has anyone else heard this?

I haven't and I can't imagine they'd do that. They'd "lose" too much money doing it like that.

Yeah, that's what I said. But he claimed that they had to because the kids were getting too old to do 2 more movies, so they were making 1. Now that I think about it, there was a huge fuss over Emma signing on to do the last TWO, not one. Never mind.

I don't get the reasoning that they are getting too old. Emma Watson is 17 right now. She'll only be playing a part that is one or two years younger than her. 90210 had characters that were 10 years younger than their real ages and no one cared about that.

I think there's too much going on in the books to make 6 and 7 one movie. It'd have to be six hours. Of course, I wouldn't mind sitting through a movie that long if it was HP!

Yeah, post-puberty you can get away with a LOT when it comes to ages. No one's going to be like, OMG Harry's too old, because they've watched him grow up in the first place.

3 good points! So, do you think Harry, Ron, and Hermione will all live since JKR said they would? Or do you think she's changed her mind since she said it in like 1999? (See one of my posts toward the top of the page).

Could you get me a link for that? I'm more of a Leaky Cauldron gal myself. I think Hermione and Ron will live. Harry I'm not so sure about. But I'm really worried about Snape too. I think he's good, and I read an EXCELLENT essay on one of the HP sites that could convince anyone that he is. I'd hate to see him die if he really is good. I can try to find it if anyone is interested.

Well what is all of the fuss, cant they just do a POTC or Matrix and film the last 2 films at the same time, that way no one 'grows' up too much too fast. I mean that would be my solution, but now thinking about it they are probably getting ready for production on number 6 and the 7th book hasnt even come out, so never mind my good on paper idea, because that would mean they would have to push production on 6 back and then rush out a script for 7, so that may be a really bad idea and end up making a crappy movie. So I guess they just need to proceed with them as separates and get them out.
