LOL! I ordered the AOII one when my oldest pledged--I already had the Pi Phi one--and the eBay seller asked me how many daughters I had. When I told her 9, she sent me about 12 of those needlework brochures with her best wishes!

I've been doing a lot of knitting lately. Go figure - it's hot and humid and I'm knitting.
I'm also working on finishing up a needlepoint piece that I set aside some time before I was married. I only have to fill in some background stuff and then block it.

I did an Alpha Gam armorial bearing years ago, no idea where it is.
Maybe after we move and get settled, I'll start another one.
Maybe it will be ready when/if GTau moves into their new house Fall 2009 (if approved).

i'm still hoping that one of these days, i'll finish the crossstitch pattern i've been working on intermittently for...five years now? maybe? that thing has travelled the world with me. it's an assortment of flowers, quite pretty. i keep toying with the idea of finding a phi psi pattern and making a pillow or something for my brother (though that sounds a bit silly, i mean what's a 20 year old boy going to do with a pillow? :P) anyone have suggestions for what i could make it into? im not talented enough to make my own, so if there's a free site to convert images to xstich patterns, that'd be dandy too

You probably shocked the socks off of her! I can see that poor woman now, rubbing her hands with glee, hoping that you add yet another GLO to your garden!

Yesterday 4 of us started new projects. I began that huge cross stitch vegetable wreath and I got our 3 littlest girls started on projects--1 on a pansy rug, 1 on a needlepoint sunflower, and 1 on a cross stitch butterfly. I hope they'll use these skills for relaxation in the future!
We were at Michael's yesterday and , they had already put up the fall florals and were getting ready to set out the Halloween aisles! They said they'd even have a bit of Christmas stuff in a couple of weeks. The Halloween items weren't even the craft stuff that you have to work on ahead of time, they were just decorations!

The Michael's near me already has some Christmas projects out. I wanted to just sit down in the aisle and cry!

What is up with that?
I can sort of imagine why with school starting earlier and earlier that Michaels might want to make sure they have anything back-to-school fall related up by the end of the month because teachers will go back for pre-planning so early. (Don't we all pretend that school still starts in the fall even though it's really August?)
But why in the world would they be looking all the way to Halloween and Christmas? Do think they have to start getting people in the mood with fall and winter decor so that they'll be ready to buy the fall and winter crafts come September or October and still have a shot at finishing them? I wonder what the peak selling season of Christmas themed needlework actually is.

I've been meaning to tell you that I think your signature should go in the Signature Hall of Fame! I'm thinking of calling the process "R" this year, and letting the chips fall where they may!
