Pledged the week before my first semester, Fall 1993. Wow...I was only 17! That was a long time ago!

Junior year--began in Oct., crossed May 17. Just celebrated 38 years in my glorious sisterhood.

This thread is interesting. Notice the number of NPHCers who pledged junior year and the NPCers and IFCers who pledged freshman year.
Part of the reason is that for most NPHC orgs you must be at least a sophomore to pledge.

Never Pledged!
Founded a local and affiliated with LXA during the school year and was Initiated in 1966. So local was Founded in 1965! Graduated in 1967.
I feel I missed a lot but did not in the same vein for what I did!

That's often based on credit hours. So you can be a 1st year in "sophomore standing." But most people reach sophomore standing in their 2nd year.
I pledged Junior year.

Yep, 24 semester hours, 36 quarter hours. So yes it has been done "freshman" year when someone entered college during the summer, and/or had high school AP credits rransferred and received the number of hours as a second semester "freshman". More likely on a semester system than a quarter system, because of timing.

actually i think most NPHC orgs you have to have a minimum of 12 credits, therefore meaning second semester freshman...but it must be that alot of schools dont allow freshmen to got thru Intake.

Some require 12 credits.
But most require sophomore status which is generally 24 credits. That's why people tend to be sophomores (and up).
