Here is my engagement ring and my band is white gold,pave diamonds all the way around, antique style.

Actually I tried it on my right hand, just in case.

I am not familiar with this superstition, what does it mean when you try rings on the actual finger? Are you doomed?

I used to wear a ring on my left ring finger and someone told me that if you did that you would never get married.

Oh I don't know, I just made it up for myself. But I'm sure there is some old wives' tale out there that is related.
