I'll bring this one up to the top with a hellous interview story.
I had a phone interview for a position outside of my city so it had to be a phone interview. I really, really, really wanted this job. The first phone interview went well and I was asked for a second interview to happen about 20 minutes after the first one. Well I was on lunch from my job and had to go back within that twenty minutes. My plan was simple when they called I would go to another place and do the second interview. They called and I rushed up stairs and tried to get in my car and do the second interview. On my way to my car the wind was in my phone, and a train just happen to come by and the interviewer could not hear me. I got rattled and started answering the questions all wrong! Last and yes it could get worse! The human resource manager from my current position saw me and came and sat in my car and I had to finish the interview in "code" so as not to tip her off that I was interviewing with another company. I was so disgusted after that interview and I knew that I didn't get the job. I'm still not over it!

I could write the book on hellacious interviews. Here's an example.
I was offered an interview with Readers' Digest for a web developer position. I drove over there and I had been directed to the wrong entrance gate - so I was flustered from the start. Security directed me to the right gate, and I went in for the interview. The interviewer told me that I would be "put in front of the Java Firing Squad" (direct quote) to determine if I could code in Java. I knew on the spot that RD wasn't the place for me.
The headhunter that sent me there then called me to say RD wasn't interested in me because I was "nervous". Uh, show me a job candidate who isn't nervous walking into an interview??
Meh. I have a much better job now.

i went for an entry level sales position for T*mobile a few years ago. i showed up at their office, which had to be a test within itself because they gave me no office number, and there was no name on the door. the girl who met me was very nice, and i figured it would be a breeze. it was, until i found out it was a panel interview with 5 of their execs. you would have thought it was a VP position, some of the questions they asked me. my favorite? if i were an animal, what kind of animal would i be? i didnt know if this was a trick question or what, so i said a panda, because they are very peaceful loving animals, but they can be aggressive and get things done when they needed to (i was totally in the dark, but thought that would work). it did. it got the job, and now that i get to conduct interviews of my own at my latest job, i always ask that ?? lol!
