Tom, I actually like the beads a little.
I was talking in general terms thought, not specific to the beads.

Wow.
Either:
1. HQ is making an attempt to truly market the LXA name by officially licensing every product imaginable.
or
2. HQ is whoring itself out for money.
A skateboard? What's next, LXA toilet seat? LXA soap? LXA condoms?

I think the beads and the skateboard are great. If I could get a Lambda Chi wakeboard I would consider it. I looks better than sticking a sticker on your board.

Please feel free to shout me down if I'm wrong about this, as I haven't been out "shredding" lately, but...
What's up with the skinny little skateboard? Didn't those things go out of style about 1979? Does it come with knee socks and feathered hair?
My cousin had one of them, and I fell and busted my ass every time I tried to ride it.

Longboards are for just riding around. Not for tricks or anything. I think I might even purchase one of these, not to ride around as im not that coordinated, but that would look tight up on my wall.

I don't have a problem with it, but I do think some other brothers do.
But some brothers do raise an interesting question, where do we draw the line?
What shouldn't have LXA letters?

GammaZeta,
Good question, just where do we draw the line?
How about thongs?
Somethinggreek.com, which advertises on eBay, offers a monogrammed thong. They do have a disclaimer: Note this item is not available for all organizations.
Another site offers a Greek God Thong for men in medium or large. I wonder how many medium thongs they sell!
Best Wishes,
Mike Raymond

I don't necessarily have a problem with the item itself because if you put it into the context that it is a plastic necklace with a plastic LCA monogram, there is nothing wrong with it. When you put it into context of where they are displayed and the connotation associated with them, it to me personally is an insult to our name. I hate to sound like a purist about this, because god knows I am no where close to being a saint, but I am not naive about the thing. It is something I would personally choose not to display.
The skateboard I thought was kind of cool, I had never seen that before. It brings up one of my original points, does anyone actually approve these items or do they just rubber stamp everything? Thinking about that has made my opinion evolve a bit. I know that Nationals is not fond of all of the distasteful shirts out there, but it is a bit hard to argue that position when our letters are allowed to be placed on everything with enough room for 3 letters.
It is I-Week here at Ohio State, tonight we are having initiation, and perhaps I am caught up with all of the meanings, values, ideals, and all of that good stuff of the fraternity. We adamantly believe that I-Week is a week a purity, no alcohol, no drugs eg cigarettes, and we even TRY to watch our language. And for some reason a lot of these novelties seem to not fit this tradition.
My own personal belief, nothing else.
